    SPRING ‘20 RELEASE SUMMARY

    AS PART OF THE LATEST SAGE PEOPLE SPRING RELEASE WE’VE ENHANCED ACCRUAL BALANCES, REWARD PLANNING, UPDATED EEO REPORTING, IMPROVED THE PEOPLE WORKFLOW MANAGEMENT PILOT; WHILE ALSO UPDATING OUR EMPLOYEE API.

    PEOPLE MANAGEMENT People Management Workflow - Employee changes (pilot, part 2)

    The evolution of the pilot for people workflow management – employee changes, shows our commitment to improving the processes used by managers and HR so they have a better experience making inevitable employee changes in Sage People.

    These new features empowers managers to effectively make team updates through guided journeys, making employee changes much easier. We’ve removed the complexity customers felt with the previous process that presented lots of fields which caused confusion and errors.

    In part two of this pilot we have made the following improvements:

    • The review screen shows a summary for assessing employee changes which is easier to digest

    • We’ve created an audit history for better visibility of the timeline of requests

    • We’ve used the WX style tab approach for the manager screen so you can quickly see pending requests, what’s been approved, and in review

    Please note, this pilot will be conducted in trial orgs and only for a small number of customers. This will not be available in your Sandbox or your Production org. ATTENDANCE AND LEAVE MANAGEMENT Accrual balance enhancements

    Related to the calculation of absence balances we’ve made improvements to the granularity of absence data, the processing of that data, the performance,

    and the end user experience. What’s new as part of this enhancement:

    • Extend storage of accrual data to include all absence accrual types/ reasons beyond vacations

    • Extend storage of accrual data to include further history

    • Enable better reporting and performance on absence calculations

    • Accrual Log (WX and HR portal) has been paginated by accrual year to enhance the user experience

    The old ‘absence’ balance meant customers had to have an element of manual intervention by where they had to download data out of the system, ensuring it’s centrally stored to report on in the future, or were required to run report/batch processes for larger groups of employees to see an absences balance. Now customers can use ‘accrual’ balance instead to get better year-end figures, and to see more detailed information around all absence accrual types e.g. sick pay, mat leave etc. within Sage People. Absences in calendars (beta)

    Import iCalendar files into your business calendar so you can share what time you’ve booked off in Sage People with your wider organization. You can now:

    • Add absence events created in Sage People to your organization’s business calendar e.g. Outlook, Google etc.

    • Manually download absences/ vacations created in Sage People as iCalendar files and share these files

    This new functionality reduces a manual step for customers adding absences into external calendar applications. Look out for the button

    now included on absence events that will download the iCalendar file.

    REWARD AND RECOGNITION

    Bonus planing (Beta)

    Reward and retain talent with our new reward planning capabilities, which offers an intuitive way of empowering managers to reward great work. To complement our salary planning updates we’ve made the following improvements to bonus planning:

    • As part of this beta instead of just having the ability to create salary plans you can now do both salary and bonus planning together.

    • Bonus planning setup is easier to configure including eligibility, bonus types/reasons, effective dating, bonus calculation formulas, and more.

    • You can see reward plans for both individuals and team views

    • Ability to review and recommend bonus amounts with visibility of budget parameters

    • You can create several reward plans across your organization for example you could setup varying plans for different countries or departments.

    Developments to reward planning are ongoing so look out for more incremental beta functionality updates in future releases.

    HR AND PEOPLE ANALYTICS

    EEO report update (US compliance pack)

    In this release we will update the format for the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) report, part of the US compliance pack. Ensuring our US customers remain compliant with the latest Federal guidance that comes into effect in September. Format updates include:

    • Reformatting of EEO1 report - component 2

    • Output to meet new legislative/ compliance needs in the US (includes salary banding)

    • Provides HR report in format to be supplemented with data from customer payroll

    GLOBAL CLOUD HR AND PEOPLE SYSTEM

    Employee API (2.0)

    This development is the cornerstone of any 3rd party integration with Sage People enabling the consumption of critical data relating to new employees, changes and leavers. As part of this release we have developed a REST API which gives the following capabilities:

    • Consume data about all employees,

    • Consume data about individual employees,

    • Consume details about updated employees (changes and leavers),

    • Push new employee details to another system,

    • Push updated employee details to another system,

    • Ability to include custom fields.

    WINTER 20 RELEASE SUMMARY

    THE SAGE PEOPLE WINTER RELEASE DELIVERS IMPROVEMENTS TO WORKFLOWS, TIME & ATTENDANCE, AND PERFORMANCE & TALENT MANAGEMENT; WHILE ALSO PROVIDING ENHANCEMENTS TO SUPPORT AGILE WORKING ACROSS YOUR ORGANIZATION.

    PEOPLE MANAGEMENT People Management Workflow - Employee (pilot)

    In this release we are introducing a new pilot that will improve how you manage your people processes. With the new, more intuitive dynamic forms, employees will be able to raise HR requests more efficiently as they are guided through the new process. They will be prompted to select a request type followed by the relevant employee or employees (as we now support bulk submissions) and then subsequently presented with the only fields relevant to the request selected. Managers will then be presented with confirmation of the changes for each employee before they submit, and they can then view a change request summary to track progress.

    In response to customer feedback, we’ve also optimised the approval screen by grouping requests together rather than showing old and new data in separate columns. This makes it much easier to see and track changes. You can also quickly and easily see who the request relates to, as well as the HR request number, so those with larger teams can review this information more readily.

    Please note, this pilot will be conducted in trial orgs and only for a small number of customers. This will not be available in your Sandbox or your Production org.

    Groups and teams

    In the Triton release we launched a pilot whereby we extended the existing Groups and Teams functionality (which was already available in the HR portal) to Workforce Experience (WX) so that all employees could use this as a self-service tool.

    Having received great feedback from those who took part in the pilot, we

    enhanced the capabilities further by enabling ‘public groups’, where there is now an option to set a group as public so anyone can join without a private invite. Users can now also search for groups, discover new ones and sort them based on those most important to them.

    As part of this release, Groups and Teams will be made available to all customers and will support in improving how you organize, develop, recognize, reward and communicate across your business; enabling you to work in a more agile way.
