Need more exercise options in your daily routine, or how about

relieving some of the stress in your life? Try our Tai Chi, Yoga Nidra

(deep meditation) or Yoga Gold (chair/stretching) classes. The Cancer

Support Center also provides one-on-one nutrition or life coach sessions

for you when you need change in your life through mental or physical

wellness. Many of our classes, support groups and counsel sessions are

paid from the generous donations we receive from Palm Creek’s loving

residents.

For more information about our services

and programs, call Diane Gaines at 520-426-

‘hug’. Research shows that hugging (and

also laughter) is extremely effective at

healing sickness, disease, loneliness,

depression, anxiety and stress.

Did you know the

number one new year’s

resolution is to eat healthier

and get more exercise? Then

you should join us at the

Cancer Support Center for

From the General Manager

GOOD MORNING!

February is a busy month filled with exciting happenings. Make sure you

stop by the Activities Office and pick up your tickets.

The annual Cancer Awareness weekend kicks off on Friday, Feb 2nd, with

a great schedule of events. That evening’s hot air balloon “glow” will surely

light up your life. This is a very special event for our amazing community.

We really come together and give back to the Cancer Support Center for all

the wonderful work they do for the community.

As a car buff, I am looking forward to Still Cruisin’ 2018. We have some real

beauties coming to Palm Park this year.

Have some fun, do some dancing and sing out loud! And don`t forget to

give that special person a big hug on Valentine’s Day.

—Kevin

As of January 31, 2018

Here’s where we stand on our expansion projects:

The finishing touches are being done to the façade of the Ballroom.

Interior work is still being done to the Bistro. If all goes as planned, we should be up and

running by mid-month.

The Community Center in the ‘North 54’ is taking shape. Exterior walls are being

finished.

Curbing is nearly finished in the ‘North 54.’ Asphalt is being laid on many of the roads.

Model homes are being set. We are hoping for an opening of the new Model Home Center in March.

Our walking trail in the ‘North 54’ has been laid. It will meander through the planned greenbelt area.

We have come a long way since last Spring but we have some milestones we have yet to reach. We do appreciate

your patience with us during the expansion of our resort.

Guest Services

IT’S ALREADY TIME!

It’s already time for our seasonal residents to start thinking about next year!

We will begin taking reservations for the 2018-19 season this month! As in

the past, those requesting their same site for the next season will be given

the first opportunity to renew. The schedule is as follows:

Feb 13th: Same site reservations for 3 months or longer

Feb 27th: Current residents wanting different sites for 3 months or

longer

Mar 13th: All 3+ month reservations allowed

Apr 1st: Reservations open to all

A $400 deposit is due at the time of the reservation.

Starting Feb 1st, we have a brand new promotion for seasonal

guests wanting to become annual residents – $5,000 a year site

rent (plus tax) for three years. You must sign a three-year lease.

Just think about ensuring your site year-after-year, being able to

keep your rig onsite year-round and also taking advantage of annual

resident discounts! Remember, the only way to guarantee your site, is to

become an annual resident. See Guest Services for more details.

Please note that the rate sheet now states

“rates starting at” due to a shift in rate

structure with Sun Communities. You will start

to see rates varying depending on occupancy

in the resort (much like hotels) so the sooner

you book the better in order to ensure the

current published rates.

Onsite storage reservations will also be taken

at the same time as RV site reservations are made. Onsite storage is

offered at the rate of $90/month (+8.7% tax) during the months of April thru

November. You must have reservations on both the front and back end of

your onsite storage reservation in order to qualify. You may leave your rig

on your site, unplugged and neatly stored on the site your reservation is

located; we will not be moving everyone to the SE corner of the park as we

did the past two years. Onsite storage must

be paid in full at the time of the reservation.

Events and Activities

Marion Nelson

Event Manager

HELLO, FRIENDS!

February is such a wonderful time to be in Palm Creek because you can

definitely “feel the love” all around you.

We start the month with our signature event – Cancer Awareness Weekend,

where the vast majority of you generously support numerous activities by

volunteering, fundraising, participating, or just plain donating. Our goal is

always to push even higher than last year, where we raised over $21,000 for

the Cancer Support Center in Casa Grande. Please review your checklist and

flyers to pick the many ways you can help and participate. I look forward to

working with all our Cancer Warriors in this very heartwarming and important

event.

On Feb14th, we will

celebrate Valentine’s

Day in grand style with

a prime rib dinner and

dance for 320

lovebirds. Just try to

imagine all that love

filling our big

Ballroom!

Then on Feb 24th, we

will have our annual Car Show in Palm Park. This event is open to the public

and we expect to have many beautiful classic cars from the surrounding

area. Does this still fit with our love theme? You betcha – have you ever seen

these car owners dust and polish their precious pride and joys?

My prediction for February – warm weather, blue skies and lots of love. I will

see you out and about to enjoy all of this with you.

Mary Ann Brown

Activities Manager

GREETINGS!

Here we are in full swing for our 2017-2018 Season. We have lots of fun

events for all of our residents this month.

This month we will have four dances—Feb 3rd with the 8 Tracks, and Feb 9th

and 10th with Johnny K. Friday will be open to the public, so you can bring

your friends from outside the resort. The Campbell Brothers will be back again

on Feb 17th.

All dances start at 7:00pm. Bring your favorite beverage!

Our shows this month start off with The Beatles vs the Rolling Stones on Feb

7th. The British Invasion brought us the two most popular rock groups of all

time, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, as well as the liveliest debate in rock

history – which band is the greatest? Come listen and you decide!

Due to popular demand, we are bringing back the Piano Men on Feb 21st.

This show was spectacular last year and we look forward to hearing more this

year. And then on Feb 28th, we will have the ever-popular December ’63. All

shows start at 7:00pm in the Ballroom. Seats for these performances are

assigned.

We also have two NPA shows this month. On Feb 11th we have the Doo Wah

Riders and on Feb 25th it is Dan Nainan. Both shows are on Sundays and

start at 7:00pm in the Ballroom.

If you’d like to explore the area outside the resort, we have three bus trips this

month. On Feb the 8th we are heading to Tubac for the 59th Festival of the

Arts with hundreds of artists from across the country. Cost is $43.00 per

person.

On Feb 15th we are heading to the AZ Opry for Variety’s Best dinner show.

The cost is $65.00 per person.

Then on Feb 22nd we have our last bus trip of the

month to the Sonoran Living Desert near Tucson.

The cost for this trip is $40.00 per person.

Our Craft Fair will be on Tuesday, Feb 13th. Be

sure to stop by and check out our over 200 vendors.

New Image Fashion will be in our new Ballroom on Feb

20th at 9:00 am with their new spring line. Come

shopping!

This is one of our busiest months. We are still working

out a few bugs in the Ballroom but we are just about

done! I want to thank all of you for having so much

patience with us during this time.

—Mary Ann

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!

This season we have several duplicate names, and I mean several, in the

park. If the correct site number is not on the package or letter we receive, it

becomes a guessing game as to whom it belongs and could go to the wrong

person. It is imperative that the correct site number is placed on all packages

and mail.

We have a couple of unclaimed packages in the Mail room. One is addressed

to a Nana and Papa from Mel. No site number or last name. The other is toilet

tissue, paper towels, trash bags and laundry soap dropped off at a wrong site

with no name, paper work, site number, etc. Please bring paper work to claim

these items.

Prices have gone up on stamps, as well as flat rate envelopes and boxes. If

your stamps have “Forever” on them, you don’t have to worry about extra

postage. They are good for whatever the current price happens to be. For all

other stamps and prices please check with us.

There will be no mail delivery on Monday, Feb 19th, due to Presidents’ Day.

However, the Mail Room will be open from 10:00am to 4:00pm with a small

staff for your everyday postal needs.

Don’t forget – Valentine’s Day is February 14th so mail your cards early!

Allow plenty of time for your loved ones back home to receive those special

cards.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Dog Agility Group

We had a work party in December to wash our agility

equipment to get it ready for the 2018 season. Thank

you to all of the volunteers who joined us that day to

help out. We had a total of 22 people sign up their

dogs for our January agility classes for the

Foundation, Beginners, Intermediate and Working

Group. It was nice to see some familiar faces as well

as some new dogs in our classes. We had a variety

of breeds and sizes from a Yorkie to a big Golden

Doodle. Our goal is to teach the handlers and their

dogs how to focus on each other and work together as

a team as they navigate through an agility course having fun along the way. Our four week session for

February began on Jan 30th and the Thursday classes will start on Feb 1st. We are excited about our new

shed provided by Palm Creek which is located just outside the east end of the agility park and where we

can now store some of our agility equipment and supplies. Our dog agility club will be hosting a potluck

dinner for its members at the Bistro Patio on Monday, February 26 from 5 to 9 pm. If you have any

questions regarding our agility classes, please contact Sue Reineck at (440) 554-4940.
