Dr. Kedar Tilwe (Psychiatrist at Fors Hospital) conducted a workshop for the parents of Goldcrest High. The aim of the workshop was to movate the parents to create a posive family atmosphere, believe in the concept of listening to their wards and to effecvely meet up to any parenng challenges in today's modern world. It enlightened parents about various parenng styles and the skills to support these styles. There was a queson and answer session at the end of the workshop which cleared a lot of doubts from the parents. The journey of communication progressed into the nineteenth century, with the advent of computers and internet. February began with the special Blessing Ceremony organised for students of Grade 10. 'When we pray we are demonstrating our belief in a power that is greater than our own.' -Olive Steele The chanting of mantras, saying prayers and lighting of the diyas while the Gurus showered them with blessings encouraged and inspired confidence in the students that their hard work and regular study will steer them to success and excellence.The Theme Presentations of Grades 1 and 2 were a huge success. They enthralled the parents with the year long learning embedded in the Annual Theme as they showcased how smart boards and internet have made the understanding of concepts simple and easy. Celebrating International Mother Language day with a special assembly, helped students understand that it is important to preserve every language as culture forms the base of any civilization. This learning was taken forward with the celebration of Marathi Diwas where students presented the entire Maharashtrian tradition from Gudi Padwa to Ganesh Chaturthi through various dance forms like povada, lavani and koli dance. The Grand procession of Shivaji Maharaj on a pilgrimage to Pandharpur was the highlight of the assembly. A Blessing Ceremony was conducted for the Grade 10 students who will be appearing for the board exam.

The ceremony began by ligh�ng of diyas with the chan�ng of the Gayatri Mantra. These diyas were then placed on the altar by each student. Prayers were said by the school priest and �lak was applied to every student. The students took blessings from the Principal who wished them lots of luck and good health for the exam. Later the students were given their hall �ckets.

Students par�cipated in 'ABSTRACTION'-CFBP – NHAF, the 7th Annual Interschool Art Compe��on at Sir.J.J. School of Arts. This event was in collabora�on with CFBP, Kala ghoda arts fes�val, NHAF and Sir J.J.School of Arts.

It was a good exposure and an interes�ng learning experience for the par�cipants.

5 FEBRUARY STUDENT COUNCIL CAMPAIGN

Leadership is an a�tude and we saw it in the students contes�ng the Student Council campaign speeches. The contes�ng students of Class 8 going to Class 9 delivered their campaign speeches in the assembly. The nomina�ons for the student council were filed on 3rd February 2018 of which 22 students fulfilled the criteria and were shortlisted.

Each contestant was given one minute to express their opinions on why they could be elected for the Student Council. The speeches were well thought out and the students did display strength on presenta�on and language skills. The confidence of the young contestants was obvious which brought out the clarity of thought in the students.

9 FEBRUARYJUGALBANDI SINGING JODI COMPETITION

“Music, like the other fine arts, is what feeds the soul and touches the body.”

To give parents and students a pla�orm to perform together and develop a bond, a singing compe��on was organised where parent and student sang songs together. Musical instruments like keyboard and table were arranged for accompaniment. The compe�tors sang some great numbers like 'my heart will go on and on' by Celine Dion, 'it's only words' by Bee Gees, Lavender's Blue Dilly Dilly, 'Skyfall' by Adele. They sang it with a lot of confidence and spread an aura of pleasant harmony which cap�vated audience.

12 FEBRUARYASSEMBLY REPORT “MOTHER LANGUAGE DAY”

UNESCO has been celebra�ng Interna�onal Mother Language Day for nearly 20 years with the aim of preserving linguis�c diversity and promo�ng mother tongue-based mul�lingual educa�on. Dressed in their tradi�onal a�re, students of Grade 5C showcased different cultures and the importance of mother tongue through an interes�ng skit. One's mother tongue becomes instrumental in effec�vely expressing emo�ons like joy, freedom, anger and sorrow. The dance performance on the popular song 'Mile Sur Mera Tumhara..' was the highlight of the assembly.

Marathi Bhasha Diwas was celebrated on birthday of eminent Marathi Poet Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar. This day was celebrated to honour the rich history and literature associated with the language. During the assembly, the students depicted the rich tradi�ons and culture of Maharashtra with a series of tradi�onal dances like koli, lavani, powada and role plays. The rich colours and costumes along with the tradi�onal jewellery enhanced the en�re program. The highlight of the assembly was the grand procession of Shivaji Maharaj and the warkaris on a pilgrimage to Pandharpur. The event developed Marathi language skills and public speaking skills in students.

The workshop conducted on Stress Management reiterated the fact that 'Reducing stress in everyday life is vital for maintaining overall health, as it can improve one's mood, boost immune func�on and increase output.' It also helped students to understand the various ways in which they manage their stress. It was an interac�ve session conducted by Team For�s:

STRESS MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP

To encourage students' imagina�on and crea�ve skills a Shoe Pain�ng compe��on was organised. The interes�ng theme 'Communica�on with cartoon characters/emo�cons' was very crea�vely brought out by the students. They earnestly par�cipated in the compe��on and experimented with colours and paints. It ensured that the students came up with amazing artwork and also learnt to reuse and recycle things.

Pre-Primary

The Theme Presenta�on of Sr.KG in the pre-primary sec�on was held on 3rd February 2018.The story of “The Magic Lamp” was very well incorporated with the theme of the year: “Tablet to Tablet” .The Students came dressed in colorful clothes and props. The hidden talent of the children were brought out as they displayed an amazing performance with innova�ve dance steps. Parents were also invited to see the show in MPH. In the end the show ended with a great success.

Pre-Primary

The Pre-primary sec�on had arranged “School by Night” on 12th February 2018.Students came to school at 5.00pm dressed in colourful clothes and a pillow. The student assembled in their classes and the program started with a game of Treasure hunt .The students were then taken to the ac�vity room where they thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful puppet show. Then the students proceeded to the open terrace where the bright stars were ready to welcome them. The ambience was a perfect picture where the students had snacks and refreshed themselves. The students watched movie followed by a dance .Then they relaxed using their pillows watching the stars. The “Mother Nature's” basket of stars, the joyful �me spent with friends and the totally new experience at school!!The students will remember this event for a long �me.

Bow and �e was celebrated in pre-primary sec�on on 14 February 2018. Children came well dressed where boys came dressed with �e and girls were wearing beau�ful frocks with bow on their hair. All were looking very pre�y and handsome.

The Theme Presenta�on of Jr KG in the pre-primary sec�on was held on 17 February 2018.The story of “Thumbelina” was very well incorporated with the theme of the year: “Tablet to Tablet”. The theme presenta�on, 'Thumbelina' was also a culmina�on of what the students have learnt in the school in the past few months. The songs and rhymes which were taught to the students throughout the year were presented by them with an appropriate colourful costume and props. The hidden talent of the students was brought out as they delivered their dialogues confidently and displayed an amazing performance with foot tapping dance steps on the stage .Parents took a great effort to make props which were appreciated.

The Theme Presenta�on of Nursery in the pre-primary sec�on was held on 9th February 2018.The story of “Cinderella” was very well incorporated with the theme of the year: “Tablet to Tablet”.

The theme presenta�on, 'Cinderella' was also a culmina�on of what the students have learnt in the school in the past few months. The songs and rhymes which were taught to the students throughout the year were presented by them with an appropriate colourful costume and props. The hidden talent of the students were brought out as they delivered their dialogues confidently and displayed an amazing performance with foot tapping dance steps on the stage in front of the Principal ma'am and their parents.

Computers in communication…In the middle of the 20th century, inventors developed

the first compu�ng machines, which were able to add

numbers with mind-boggling speed and accuracy.

Technology raced forward, and by the 1960s, we had

smaller and more powerful computers. The Internet

debuted in 1969, designed mainly for military use. By

1986, computers had taken another giant leap forward

with the inven�on of the mouse and interfaces such as

Windows.

Global Fashion Day was celebrated in the Pre-primary sec�on on 28th February 2018.Students came dressed in

a�re represen�ng different countries. The main message of the celebra�on was to respect the tradi�on and

recognize the culture of other countries. Teachers in their respec�ve classes spoke to students about the culture

and tradi�on of some countries. Students then enjoyed photo session in the ac�vity room.
