On January 9th, The Jim Pattison Auto Group held the first of its three award celebrations in Winnipeg for our four Manitoba locations. Look at these wonderful smiles and happy faces, what a great way to start off the new year!

Toyota University delivered the Advisor Guild of Excellence recognition “Guild Ring” in January. Guild Members receive this recognition for their continued development of their guest interaction skills through the completion of all applicable Guild Platinum workshops. The “Guild Ring” represents their continued efforts to improve their interpersonal skills, inspire personal pride and a reminder for them to focus on their guest during their busy work days. Farewell Rick Phillips
In January, Jim Pattison Chrysler Jeep Dodge Surrey held a farewell party for Rick Phillips. Rick was the dealership’s Service Manager, and has worked with the dealership for over 37 years. Thank you for your years of service to the dealership and congratulations on your retirement! We wish you all the best and we will certainly miss you.
Jim Pattison Subaru Coquitlam is Now Open
On February 1st, Jim Pattison Subaru Coquitlam officially opened its doors to customers! With this being our fourth Subaru dealership, The Jim Pattison Auto Group is now Canada’s largest Subaru dealer.
The dealership is designed to the latest Subaru standards, and the facility is built with state-of-the-art equipment. Our team from Jim Pattison Volvo of Coquitlam has done an amazing job transitioning the dealership’s operations in the past few months, and has successfully completed the changeover to the new Jim Pattison Subaru Coquitlam. Congratulations team! We look forward to many incredible years of success for the new store.

“I recently shipped my 1999 S70 T5 from Ontario. Unfortunately, I have had a few cases where I was in desperate need for a Volvo dealer to make repairs. The car has over 300k km and it is at the point of some big repairs. I have had 3 such repairs and I was very lucky to end up at North Vancouver Volvo. On each occurrence (1 requiring a tow from Coquitlam) I was greeted as if I was the only customer in the dealership.
On the first case, Dave Watkins the Service and Parts Manager told me to bring the car in and to see him directly. When I arrived, he dropped everything he was doing and analyzed what my issue was. Within 15 minutes the car was being repaired. Parts had to be ordered which added a few hours to the repair. Dave gave me his personal vehicle to allow me to attend a couple of other appointments that I had. I have dealt with another Volvo dealership in Ontario that was exceptional good but they come in second to Volvo of North Vancouver and it is mainly due to the service that Dave Watkins has provided each time I have been in the dealership. Each time he has put me at ease when it came to explaining the issues with my car. He has an ability to calm you down and take the anxiety out of what most times is very stressful. He takes time with the customer again as if there was no one else there. Very simply, it is because of Dave and his team that makes me bring my car to Volvo of North Vancouver when it requires service.
On the other 2 occasions, I was again treated as though I was the only customer in the dealership. Sabrina D. the service representative treated me the same as Dave. I showed up at 8:15 without an appointment with a manual shift car stuck in third gear. She took me in right away and the vehicle was being analyzed immediately. At 8:30 I knew what the problem was. She explained everything so that I understood what had to be done and what the invoice would be. She made sure that I had a customer vehicle to use. She was very cordial and helpful. There is a technician by the name of Tony who is the same as Dave and Sabina. He is an excellent technician. He also explained everything to me and showed me first hand right in the repair shop so that understood what was going to happen.
To most people what I have written probably doesn't seem to be a big deal but I can't emphasize enough the feeling that you get when these people treat you like there was no one there. They all go the extra step to make sure you understand what will happen and what it will cost. Remember, I drive a 16-17 year old Volvo not a brand new shiny Volvo. The point is these people treat me just the same as the customer who has a new vehicle. Also, I am not a North Vancouver Volvo customer, I just showed up from Ontario but, that made no difference to these people. They went out of their way to make certain that my Volvo was repaired to their high standards and most importantly that the vehicle is SAFE! I very rarely write recommendations but these people deserve to be acknowledged for their efforts.” - ROY KOLOTYLO

Although it turned out to be a tad premature bringing in my ‘05 Echo for servicing on a specific issue, Craig Weiss took the time to show me around the new shop (pretty amazing!) and to bring me over to check out my little bazoo while it was up on the hoist. At that point, he, Brad the tech, and I all discussed options for keeping an eye on said issue all the while never talking down to me. That is HUGE in my books. And my car got washed! “This place is great and the people are too. I bought a used 2004 Tacoma in September and the salesman, Eric Wilkinson, was awesome. Not pushy or awkward, but knowledgeable and helpful and all-round great. I had a wonderful 4 months of bliss with the truck before I wrote it off (so mad). Predictably, ICBC gave me (quite literally) the lowest offer possible for the write-off value of my truck. I kept in touch with Eric, and mentioned to him that I was going through this nonsense with ICBC. He immediately offered to scan the breakdown of the inspection and service department’s upgrade work that was done to make it “dealership quality” (over $2000 of work!), and additionally, get his sales manager to write a personalized letter defending the amount I paid for the truck, confirming it’s near-pristine quality, and generally letting ICBC know they weren’t fooling anyone. They did this all in record time, and ICBC upped their offer significantly. The sales team at Jim Pattison Toyota has gone out of their way to bend over backwards for me several times since. “We have just bought a 2015 Toyota Sienna from Jim Pattison Toyota Downtown dealership past month. Our sales representative Mike was extremely nice and helpful. Mike kept us up to date as to the status of car arrival, for the vehicle had to be brought in from elsewhere. Unfortunately, when the car arrived, there was a small dent on the car. No Problem. Mike and the manager apologized for the misfortune, and repaired the dent in the next few days. The car looked great. Then the manager treated us to a meal for the family for this inconvenience.
