09/15/92 Entry: A tiny heart quietly began to beat while the whole world was unaware.

11/20/92 Entry: The same heart was heard by human ears for the first time while still hidden to the world. (Continued on page 2)

A Heart For Life Below you will read three journal entries followed by a challenge to stand in the gap for the unborn, to stand unashamedly for the sanctity of human life. A woman wrote this article for a local pro-life publication 23 years ago when she was pregnant with her first child, una-ware of what she would be doing today. This special mother of five has been a PCC Client Advocate for three years. She continues with a heart overflowing for life and for the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Doing Something about It… We all recognize that our culture has many challenges; one of course is that our culture of life has deteriorated. Lives are being lost and those who oppose life seem louder than ever. Sometimes we wonder, “Are we too far gone?” For an answer, look to the Old Testament character who is so prominent in our New Testament: David. Even with his flaws, he was a man after God’s own heart. One reason for this is that even as a young man, he chose to act on God’s behalf. (Continued on page 2)

Thank You To All for the Handmade Gifts for Christ’s Little Lambs!

Project Linus Miller’s Yarners

(Continued from front page) 12/15/93 Entry: A small figure appeared and moved on a screen. Now a tiny heart could be seen as the 4 chambers worked together giving life to the small body and amazement to those who watched. With a closer look, I could see that the profile of the figure resembled my own. This living, breathing, moving being was my baby. Another life from God.

She continues: Along with pregnancy comes sacrifice. A woman must eventually leave her regular wardrobe for larger sizes. Her feet, legs and hands may swell. Her back aches. She does without some of the regular medications taken for the common cold, sore throat and headache. The mother-to-be is told to sacrifice caffeine, smoking, alcohol, and drugs. Some women choose to make these sacrifices. They choose life! Others choose to sacrifice life. They choose abortion. Some can think only of the sacrifices they must make themselves, without considering the sacrifices that have been made for them. God sacrificed His only Son, not because He was too much trouble to keep but so we could have life! For whom? Just for me, just for you, and just for those tiny hearts that the world is still unaware of. Challenge: If you have strong (continued) feelings about the “right of life” for the unborn child with a beating heart, legs, arms and hands that move and eyes that can open and close—then let your views be known. Share your feelings with women who are battling with this decision. Pass your opinions on to friends that may not hold the same views. Write your Congressional representatives who can let your ideas be made known throughout this great country. Let’s not let those hearts STOP beating totally unaware to the world! Note: This mother’s son was born in May of 1993.

Received from an area mother: “Thank you so very much for the ser-vices you provide to mothers in the area. I’m a new mother and my heart goes out to those who didn’t plan for this or don’t have a support system in place. My husband and I felt like God was telling us to take a leap of faith and I’m now staying home with our little one. God has now provided a job that I can do from home and I’m saying Thank You by donating my first check.”

The following was received as a PCC Facebook post: “I cannot thank the PCC enough for all of their support. Without them, we might not be where we are today! What an amazing group of ladies. God has His arms wrapped around that entire place. Thank you Jesus for all of our blessings!”

Debbie Vanover, Client Advocate, began working with pregnancy centers in 2005 in Richmond, Virginia. Debbie then served at the Pregnancy Resource Center in Carthage, NC. She is a wife and mother of three, and the grandmother of two. “I have always felt my calling is to be able to minister to those who deal with the is-sues of an unplanned pregnancy. I am God’s vessel and want to help, to be light, to encourage, and to equip.”

New Volunteer RN and Client Advocate The Pregnancy Care Center is blessed by precious volunteers. Two recent additions include a nurse and a client advocate. We welcome Wanda and Debbie to this special ministry.

Wanda Ledford, RN , began volunteering at the PCC in August 2016. “I have always loved OB-GYN nursing and just retired on 7-29-16. Now I have time to pursue my passions which are: 1) Missions: currently working and traveling with Campers on Mission, 2) reading, and 3) working with women and families which includes pregnancy and preg-nancy loss. I served on the Pregnancy Loss Support Group board for 20 years and recently served for 6 months on the Pregnancy Care Center board. I now volunteer as the Tuesday nurse at the center. God is so good and I am very happy here.”
