STEWARDSHIP UPDATE...January was the first month of our 2013 Budget Year and an opportunity for us to see the willing-
ness of our congregation to support the new budget for this new year.
Your contributions to the General Fund help us pay those pesky
monthly bills for electricity, gas, water and phone as well as curricu-
lum for our Sunday School classes, Youth trips to Resurrection 2013,
Children's Ministry trips to RezKids 2013, Denominational Obliga-
tions, and also staff salaries. Your contributions are very important
to keep things "operating". In a perfect world we need $337,155.00
per year for the general fund and approximately $6,484.00 per
Sunday. For the month of January (4 Sundays), contributions were
$24,692 for the general fund- so we are slightly behind our goal of
$25,936.00. If you are behind in what you had planned to give, now
is a good time to catch up. We need the participation of everyone
with our prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness for our church
to be strong and growing.

UMW 2013 READING PROGRAM update...
We now have new books for our 2013 Reading Program. Several of the books are
large print which makes for easier reading. Special thanks to the Lister Circle for
purchasing some extra books to offer a better selection of reading. I encourage you to
check out the books available for 2013. This month I would like to feature 2 of the
new books. #1: Nurturing for Community (Youth Books) Fatty Legs. Info: When
Margaret, a young Inuit girl, travelled from her home in the High Arctic to Aklavik, she was
mesmerized by this outsiders world, and she knew the key to the greatest of the outsiders
mysteriesreadingcould be found there. She begged her father to let her go to the outsid-
ers school and there encountered a disapproving nun bent on tormenting her. #2: Plain
Wisdom. Info: Plain Wisdom is a heartwarming celebration of God, womanhood and the
search for beauty that unites us all.
For more information about the 2013 UMW Reading Program, please contact Kathy Myers.

THE WORSHIP COMMITTEE has been cleaning out the banners and have found
several nice banners, but they are in need of some tender loving care. Anyone with skills
in applique or sewing, please contact Becky Mallory to volunteer your time & service.

Trinity United Methodist Church is considering starting one or more small groups that will participate in The Daniel Plan. This is a program that encourages its participants to lose weight and improve the God Given Temples that we have been entrusted with. This program is free to everyone who wishes to benefit, check it out online at www.danielplan.com. We will meet in small groups that encourage each other throughout the year to become healthier. All your personal numbers remain personal as you will track your improvements online and not in the meetings. So just what is the Daniel Plan?
The Daniel Plan is not just another "diet". It's a lifestyle based on the biblical story of Daniel, who forsook the king's rich food in order to honor God's best for him and his friends. The Daniel Plan focuses on "The Simple Six" Core Principles, including the following:
1. CONNECT for Success - Get in touch with your health and with others! 2. RELY on God's Power - Willpower is not enough. You need God's power. 3. EAT Delicious Whole Foods - Imagine the Garden of Eden as your food source. 4. MOVE Your Way to Health - Get going. The more exercise, the more energy! 5. THINK Sharper and Smarter - Better brain health = better life! 6. HEAL for Life - Make a game plan for permanent changes that heal. The Daniel Plan includes guidance from three world-class medical authorities and other wellness professionals, including:
Functional medicine specialist, Dr. Mark Hyman: Brain health expert, Dr. Daniel Amen: Heart surgeon, Dr. Mehmet Oz

THE WORKBOOK OF SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES (February 17- March 31)
A Lenten Journey
Discipline is an absolute necessity for the Christian life. We may be converted to Christ in the miracle of a moment, but becoming a saint is the task of a lifetime. And we are called to sainthood. We are to grow up in Christ (Ephesians 4:15), to become mature in Christ (Colossians 1:21) and to have the mind of Christ in us (Philippians 2:5). The season of Lent is a wonderful time to consider the disciplines of Christian living and to incorporate them into our lives. During Lent, you are invited to participate in a small group ex-perience of the Workbook of Spiritual Disciplines. The author, Maxie Dunnam, provides us with daily readings and guides us in daily reflection on what is read. You need to allow approximately 30 minutes per day for your time in the workbook. The 6 disciplines we will explore together are: 1. Scripture & Guidance February 18-24 2. Prayer February 25-March 3 3. Confession March 4-10 4. Submission & Service March 11-17 5. Solitude March 18-24 6. Generosity March 25-31
The plan is for 3 small groups to meet- one on Sunday night, one on Wednesday night and one on a weekday. You may choose the best day and time for you. If you have interest in participating in this journey, fill out the interest indicator below and drop it in the offering plate, place it in the pastor's hands, or drop it by the church office. . Workbooks Cost $10.00.
