FEBRUARY: The Month of Love!Valentines Day Brings thoughts OfLOVE! How exciting to see the flowers,

hearts and Cupid with his bow and arrows.

It is a time for sweetheart banquets,

married couples renewing their vows and

reminiscing of days gone by; counting

the blessings that God has given them.

Someone has said, love makes the world

go around. This is a very good saying.

But why just one month out of the year?

I know that the above things mentioned

refer to human romantic love and we needto show and tell those that we love we

    indeed do love them.

But what about the greatest LOVE of

allthe love that God had for us when He

gave His Son so that we through faith in

    Him could have eternal life.

If you are a Christian Stop and Think for

a momentcan you imagine such love as

the Father had for us; He gave His only

begotten Son. For God so loved the

world, that He gave His only begotten

Son, that whosoever believeth in Him

should not perish, but have everlasting

life. John 3:16. What love! to think that

God would give His own lovely Son, for

man that is so unloveable, is more than I

    can comprehend.

    --But What About Christian Love

Christian love should endure longer andgrow stronger each day. Does the world

see Christ in the life that we live before

    themeveryday? We should practice the

moral and ethical standards of Christian

    principles regarding love toward our

fellow man. We serve Him because we

love Him. We have the love of God in

us. We should prove our love for Him by

loving and helping those in need.

Some Examples From TheScriptures That We as ChristiansShould Practice!

John 13:34A new commandment I give

you, That ye love one another; as I have loved

that ye also love one another.

John 15:12This is my commandment, tha

love one another, as I have loved you.

Matthew 5:44Love your enemies, bless t

that curse you, do good to them that hate you,

pray for them which despitefully use you,

    persecute you.

Romans 12:9-10Let love be without hypoc

Abhor that which is evil; cleve to that whic

good. Be kindly affectionate one to another

brotherly love; in honor preferring one anoth

    .

Romans 13:10Love worketh no ill to

neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of

    law.

Then There Is The 13th Chapter

    I Corinthians.

Please get your Bible and look this up now

read it. After you read it PLEASE begin to a

    these principals to your life.

    He that loveth not, knowetnot God;

For God is Love.I John 4:8

Every Donation Counts!I am so thankful to the many of you that responded to

our Thanksgiving and Christmas appeal for financial

help and in-kind donations. Even after all of these

years I still get a little apprehensive at the beginning of

the season wondering if there is going to be enough

money to meet financial needs, food for food bags and

our dinners here at the Mission and gifts for those that

spend their Christmas in the Mission. And, you know,

God is still faithful, you have responded to His call and

we made it through another year.

I do appreciate you and all that you do for the Lord and

for the things that is accomplished here at the Mission

    for HIM because of you!

Someone has said, I can only make a small insignificant

donation. No donation is too small or insignificant.

Please remember that! What really touches my heart

are those donations from people that I know cannot

afford to give, yet they want to be a part of helping thehomeless. You know, God blesses them for what they

do and I would not want to be the one that deprives

them of a blessing from God.

Then, I am thankful for our faithful donors that give

to the Mission every month and besides this they

respond to our special appeal letters. The work of the

Anchorage Gospel Rescue Mission is a ministry and

it is Gods work. But without all of you that support

this ministry it would be impossible for us to meet

the needs of so many that come to us for help. Yes,every donation counts, those from our regular donors,

occasional donors and those from the one-time donors,

no matter how small it all counts. We put it all together

and take it to the bank, deposit it, and it all helps to keep

    the Mission in operation.
