The Chocorua Public Library was born in 1888. It started out in the little Post Office and eventually graduated to a corner of Runnells Hall in Chocorua Village. It has always remained a wholly private community effort - unsupported by government funds. Marion Posner, our Head Librarian, and Myles Grinstead provide a multitude of programs and years of experience. Over the years and through much generosity and love, it has evolved into the "living room" of our community.

On March 5, 2016 we are hosting our biggest annual fund-raiser. We will be celebrating the impending spring season with a Great Gatsby themed Spring Fling soiree. This party includes scrumptious foods provided by Chef Mark Tapper

from Camp Merrowvista, as well as wines and coffee. The highlight of the evening is our Live and Silent Auctions. The one and only George Cleveland emcees. There will be DJ music from C&R Entertainment.

Tickets are $25 in advance and at the door. The event is being held at Runnells Hall

from 6:00-9:00PM. If you are interested in celebrating with us, please check out our website or Facebook page, or simply pop into the library to purchase your ticket. If you are interested in donating something wonderful for our auction, please contact Kate Stanley at [email protected].

We look forward to this event every year as it is a chance to not only celebrate spring but also an opportunity to shake off the winter doldrums with friends and neighbors and support our lovely little library.
