“The Eucharist is the source and summit of
the Christian Life. (LG #11)” This was one of the more profound quotes that came out of Vatican II. Unfortunately there are times when age prevents someone from fully participating in
the Eucharist. At times like these we, as the Body of Christ, have the responsibility to bring the Eucharist to them. If you are interested in becoming a Communion Minister to those who live in Seniors’ homes—please, please talk to Father Jim. We cannot forget those upon whose shoulders we stand.
Celebrating the Eucharist is the most important thing we will ever do. It has to be done with reverence and finesse. To facilitate a true holy celebration there will be 10 -15 min work-shop for the difference liturgical ministries. The following are the scheduled dates Hospitality and Ushers Workshop - Sun. Feb. 14 after Mass Reader Workshop - Sun. Feb. 21 after Mass Counting Teams Workshop - Sun. Feb. 28 after Mass
Come celebrate the "Year of Mercy" by attending our Deanery Lenten Retreat on Monday February 22 and Tuesday February 23, 2016, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Cathedral. This year the speaker is Fr. Millan Sajonas, Pastor of Notre Dame de la Nativité in Zenon Park. Fr. Millan will share with us about the meaning of “the Year of Mercy”, God’s compassion and mercy in the Scriptures, God’s compassion and mercy in the Sacrament of Reconciliation, the opening of the Holy Door at Sacred Heart Cathedral and Indul-gences! Everyone is welcome!
