Now, eight offices on the second floor of the museum are being used by the Social Services of the Community of Ma- drid (CAM ) installed in this plant . Obviously , the above claim of the authorities of our CAM was the ins- tallation of a PEF , which would have resulted in the relocation of the sculptures presented in the space of the mu- seum , given the expec- ted problems regarding any of the behavior of people who come to this type of space , ac- cording to information received in connection with the collected expe- riences of other similar areas. Now the transfer of the works are no longer ne- cessary , since the Social Services cited work by appointment flocking to isolated individuals or couples with some fami- ly problems for the rele- vant advice . Therefore, it is as if some new visitors to the Mu- seum should be added without any additional risk to the works on dis- play in it is added. Elskus albino studied at the Ins-

titute of Decorative Arts in

Kaunas .

After World War II , he moved

to Germany to study architec-

ture and painting at the Scho-

ol of Arts and Crafts in Frei-

burg .

In 1979 he emigrated to the

United States. There, between

the cities of Chicago and

New York, makes the four ye-

ars the program lasted win-

dows.

Throughout his career he has

taught at various universities

and institutions in the U.S. , in-

cluding the School of Design,

Rhode Island, in Provicende ,

State University Fullerton, the

Museum School in Boston Stu-

dies Window " Sunburst " Virgi-

nia and Experimental Glass

Workshop in New York.

Therefore, he has trained ma-

ny generations of artists

among which has left its

mark .

Elskus albino is also author of

The Art of Painting on Glass,

published in 1980, in New

York.

This is a classic text , widely re-

ad by those interested in the

art of painting on glass, both

traditional paint used by me-

dieval artists - under - secret

for centuries and the contem-

porary .

For years an active member

of the SGAA , Stained Glass

Association of America- Ame-

rican Association of Stained

Glass .

In the work of collection of

MAVA , Albino Elskus procee-

ded to paint the surface of

flat glass as if it were a can-

vas .

The color is applied by mixing

it with water and gum arabic,

working it as if you were pain-

ting with watercolor.

Contemporary painting on

glass is a very rich field of ex-

pressive possibilities in Albino

Elskus having one of his best

and most veterans representa-

tives.

In 2003 he was invited to make

a presentation of their work by

the Director of Round Top

Center for the Arts in Damaris-

cotta, Manie .

Actually it was a retrospective

exhibition that gathered his 50

-year career.

It could be stained glass ,

paintings on glass, panels ,

drawings, cartoons and pho-

tographs of their missing work .

happiness and satisfaction , I

started thinking of a figurine of

my parents when I was a kid. It

was a small figure of St. Mary or

Madonna . Not being in any cu-

rrent religious orientation I reali-

zed that this object had made

me a gift: an evocation in my

thoughts of peace, tranquility

and inner strength. Without reali-

zing it, I did the work that

brought me to these feelings,

creating objects that could , like

the statue , give peace, and

quiet contemplation . As time

has passed , I began to explore

how the shape, color and pat-

tern can also evoke darker emo-

tions .

Tullman's work is organic and

inspired by nature.

Outside of work in the study

of glass, some of his favorite

pastimes are gardening and

visiting farmers markets.

"If we look at five of the same

flowers will be slightly different

depending on your environ-

ment and genetic mutations.

If you look at five pieces of

glass I do with the same color,

and the molded form, will be

a little different, as a reflec-

tion of my own mood, envi-

ronment and imperfections. "

Janusz Pozniak was born in Swin-

don , England.

He received a Bachelor of Arts

Glass West Surrey College of Art

& Design and received a diplo-

ma DATEC Southport College of

Art

Since 1992 , Pozniak has worked

professionally in association with

many renowned artists including

glass Dante Marioni , Benjamin

Moore , Dale Chihuly, Lino Taglia-

pietra , Sonja Blomdahl and Dick

Marquis.

Pozniak has been a visiting ar-

tist / professor at the School of

Design , Tyler School of Art, and

the University of Rhode Alfred ,

and has been

won numerous awards from insti-

tutions such as Pilchuck Glass

School , Haystack Mountain

School and Artist Trust.

He is known for his outstanding

technical ability as well as his

quick wit , sometimes scathing .

Pozniak 's recent work shows a

different side , the more intros-

pective side of the artist.

As the artist says : " I always

hoped that my job was to lead

people to react , feel and think .

To convey a specific emotion ,

sensation or feeling. While strug-

gling with personal issues of

director and one of the foun-

ders of Ignite Glass Studios.

He grew up in the suburb of

Wilmette, Chicago and was

fortunate to find working with

glass when he was a high

school student.

I Piano Cycle "Castle Valderas”

Since last Saturday , January 25 ,

until March 1 , has been held at the

" Manuel de Falla " , Alcorcon , I cy-

cle the Piano " Castle Valdez " or-

ganized by our organization , by

the " Miguel Angel Colmenero "

said Foundation and Conservato-

ry , working with this event the De-

partment of Education of our City .

The planned series of concerts in

the Auditorium celebrate our Mu-

seum, but it was impossible to get a

piano suitable to install in that spa-

ce , is expected to be realized in

the Auditorium of the Conservatory

of our City.

The inaugural concert was given

by Angel Alvaro , born in Bilbao in

1996.

He began his musical training at

the age of 9 with Master Eduardo

Ernand .

Then he entered the Conservatory

Amaniel , Madrid , where his studies

with Professor Elena Aguado conti-

nues , earning the honors last year

in most subjects.

After finishing the elementary gra-

des , he was awarded the Prix

Amaniel .

It has expanded its training with tips

from famous musicians and inter-

nationally acclaimed Sebastian

Marine, Miguel Ituarte or Mariana

Gurkova .

He has performed in Madrid, Sala-

manca and Teruel, in addition to

having been part of the Cultural

Program of the Valencian Commu-

nity.

He has given recitals at venues

such as the Manuel de Falla Hall of

the Royal Conservatory of Madrid,

Conde Duque Center Auditorium

Móstoles , the International Institu-

te , the Academy of Fine Arts of

San Fernando , Madrid headquar-

ters Pianos & Artists , and the Institu-

te Cervantes.

Among the many awards he has

received for his forays into other

fields of culture, are those related

to his literary and philosophical

work , as the 1st prize of the Narrati-

ve Competition has won for four

consecutive years in the IES Beatriz

Galindo, where he completed his

ESO studies in a bilingual program ,

obtaining the qualification of 10 in

all subjects, and thus receiving

Honorable Mention Award of the

Community of Madrid.

It has also recently won the 1st prize

in the " Olympiad Philosophical

Community of Madrid" , so that their

trials have merited publication in

the prestigious journal " Paidéia " .

The interpretation of this first con-

cert piano cycle was of extraordi-

nary beauty , showing a broad pre-

paration, since the characteristics

of the works that were part of his

repertoire demanded highly deve-

loped .

The privatization process of co-llecting glass in Alcorcón has cle-ar benefit among which , as we shall see , Alcorcón citizenship is not found.

Meanwhile, the mayor is trying to divert the attention of public opi-nion to the realm of labor - it is true that there will be layoffs in the grant that is being done to ECOVIDRIO - workers ESMASA association have gone on strike in protest against the model of private management of a public service that today is perfectly via-ble publicly managed through ESMASA .

To understand this it is necessary to briefly explain the BUSINESS of glass recycling .

Glass recycling is a nice activity that citizens we build awareness of the environment to save the planet with a few do BUSINESS.

Who does business ?

Begin by the end. Under EU ru-les , companies that use glass to package their products are MUST , according to the Packa-ging Law , to finance the collec-tion system packaging.

Owners packers who know the system , created an association " nonprofit " called ECOVIDRIO .

Packers members of this asso-ciation are made in exchange for the payment of dues to the asso-ciation that assures them that the packaging used in their proces-ses are recycled 100 % com-pliance with the regulations .

ECOVIDRIO primarily offers three services : Recycling , Awa-reness and Prevention . For the case we will focus on the section where this association Recycle offers two possibilities:

of internal irregularities that alle-gedly resulted in adulteration in the final price of the glass .

Recall that are packaging compa-nies , the same companies that manage ECOVIDRIO , they buy recycled packaging their products and they are interested in the pri-ce of glass waste not fluctuate (depending on if people recycle more or less glass will be more or less supply and waste - glass ) . I mean, these business interests would be able to control the price of glass waste and therefore eli-minate possible fluctuations in the price of recycled glass.

Packers through ECOVIDRIO would happily be the only institu-tion in Spain that offers glass waste . Yes, through public auc-tion.

It is a monopolistic practice in which a single company controls the supply of waste glass , the basic raw material for recycled glass , so that the field of packa-ging on the price control is assu-red.

Can we still think ECOVIDRIO has no profit ?

Furthermore, selective collection figures are record in Alcorcón , 1973.76 ANNUAL TONS ( 11.6 kilos / capita / year) and are a hearty "booty" in terms of reve-nue for this monopolistic associa-tion .

Revenue today are collected by the company ESMASA publicly owned and therefore likely to co-ver social services, education, aid to the unemployed, etc. .

If revenue for ECOVIDRIO beco-me , citizens not only be deprived of these services but also have to bear the fee that the City will have to pay for the services this organization is already offering ESMASA efficiently and benefit of all citizens of Alcorcón.

In connection with budgeted figu-res by the City , in 2013 listed as income from sale of glass and € 45,000 in 2014 include € 0 , so that income by outsourcing servi-ce glass collection is lost.

Considering the layoff policy that runs the City Is all credible point that reducing the provision of ser-vices is to maintain ESMASA template ?

Template does not seem to agree with these benefits . So the ques-tion of this article.

Through ECOVIDRIO : With this option the association is respon-sible for all removal, installation , maintenance and cleaning of containers, at no cost to the Ci-ty .

Through the City : In this case , the City funded ECOVIDRIO the difference between the traditional collection system (no waste se-paration ) and the model they call " new " apart. A model that has already been implemented in Alcorcón few years and running without problem.

That is, in the case of Alcorcón , neither option is practical becau-se the city is already adapted to the garbage collection ( including glass ) .

Citizens have paid our green is-lets, we have our own speciali-zed collection trucks and workers in the field.

Alcorcón already has its own In-tegrated Waste Management System . So ... What does ECO-VIDRIO a glass collection in the city?

We are still investigating and found that ECOVIDRIO shares plus the packaging is another avenue of income.

Is the most important according to its latest annual report and ac-count for 38 % of the total ( over € 26 million ) coming GLASS SA-LE collected through the system that they implemented in cities.

Question of income or monopoly question ?

It is also worth mentioning that ECOVIDRIO was sentenced to pay a fine of 1 million euros by the National Competition Com-mission for a crime , among ot-her charges , including a series

Concert at the MAVA.

On the part of the Conservato-

ry , and so far , we have only

had the pleasure of having the

large group of saxophones that

played a memorable concert

on March 16 last year, show that

you can see through this link.

Unfortunately, we can not say

the same of the Conservatory "

Manuel de Falla " of our city of

Alcorcon , who , despite our in-

sistence , does not seem to in-

tend to collaborate with our mu-

sic projects.

Last January 24 was held in the

Auditorium of the tenth concert

MAVA " MAVA Concert " pro-

gram, which our Association has

developed monthly.

This time , we enjoyed the music

played by three string groups for-

med by students of the Conser-

vatory of Music " Teresa Bergan-

za " of Madrid.

The group acted secondly also

incorporated a flute player .

The works performed each of

the groups were: Lento Allegro

movement of the Quartet in G

major, Mozart 's Adagio and

Allegro Quartet in D major, Mo-

zart and the first three move-

ments , Allegro ma non troppo ,

and Molto Vivace , the Ameri-

can Quartet in Dvorak.

On this occasion, and as proof

that this concert program is con-

solidating more and more, the

attendance was very promi-

nent , estimating an attendance

of about one hundred people ,

who applauded enthusiastic

each of the works that these

young performers executed

masterfully .

We must continue , as could not

be otherwise , thanking the co-

llaboration of the Fundación Mi-

guel Angel Colmenero , and es-

pecially its President , Julio Folla-

na , in the organization of these

musical events.

MAVA exposure Limen LIMBO

7x7 works by Yolanda Tabane-

ra .

The exhibition, which occu-

pies half the space of the

temporary exhibition hall of

MAVA , landscapes consists of

objects, installations and

sculptures.

The landscapes of objects

have always been present in

the work of this artist, but have

become more common in

their presentations from a

scholarship -residence at Be-

llevue Saal in Wiesbaden, in

the summer of 2010.

As the end of his stay , he ma-

de an exhibition entitled " The

night will be nothing ," which

recreated a forest with real

elements : leaves, dirt , logs ,

drawn from around the pla-

ce , which incorporates disso-

nant elements : balls and odd

shapes glass , intervening de-

cisively in transforming the

landscape to make it yours.

The title chosen by the artist "

Limen LIMBO 7x7 " , refers to

P2O5 is present in concentra-

tions of about 1.2% by weight,

between 3 and 4 % by

The role of MgO in the glass

structure is similar to that of

Recycling. New plant in Areosa.

The glass recycling plant laun-

ched by Environment Daorje

Areosa (Cerceda -A Coruña)

will increase by 80 % the an-

nual tons of this material reco-

vered in Galicia.

With the commissioning of

these facilities will Galicia re-

cycled 38,000 tonnes a year

to 68,000 .

Those 30,000 tons to be reco-

vered in the new plant repre-

sents 62% of the inputs glass

intended for treatment. These

inputs come , first , selection

of mechanical gravity tables

performing at the Recycling

Plant , Treatment and Fuel

Processing ( PRTE ) , and se-

condly, what has already

stockpiled in the non-

hazardous waste landfill Com-

plex environmental Cerceda

managed by Sogama .

The Regional Minister of Envi-

ronment , Planning and Infras-

tructure , Agustín Hernández

attended the commissioning

of this new glass processing

plant and noted that this new

plant will " get a solution to an

old problem thanks to the

agreement with Ecovidro and

Daorje " .

Hernandez added that " This is

a solution that also trigger re-

covery figures glass in the

meet the objectives of the

Waste Management Plan and

cullet per capita over the

" Galicia will become the

fourth largest region with recy-

cling of glass, a significant in-

hardly aware of the extent and

force of Islamic culture . This ex-

hibition of the Focus- Abengoa

Foundation realizes both. The

provenance of the pieces draws

the dilated map which expan-

ded and established numerous

relationships with other peoples,

Mughals to Venetians. Moreo-

ver, books and objects ( com-

passes and astrolabes but also

surgical instruments ) recall the

influence of Arabic thought

brought to Europe the thought

of Aristotle , whose writings were

preserved , and a secular way

of understanding the world of

magic. If Aquinas renewed Euro-

pean culture with the ideas of

Aristotle, his teacher, Albert the

Great, drove magical practices

that were to have special

weight in the West until the birth

of modern science .

Going longer exposure , the

overall theme , the light, share

the three monotheistic religions,

Muslims , Jews and Christians. As

Hegel suggested , while the Per-

sian Zoroastrianism deified light

monotheistic religions thought .

all graduates in Fine Arts

from the Complutense Uni-

versity of Madrid.

This will be our second visit to

this temple of the window,

because in the month of Ju-

ne 2011 we had the oppor-

tunity of visiting with a group

of friends.

The description of this first vi-

sit is available on our Bulletin

No. 35.

large canvases Tiziano these cha-

racters to his palace in Binche , on

the outskirts of Brussels.

The choice of subject was respon-

ding to political interests , as the Fu-

ries , eternally punished for defying

the gods , symbolized the German

princes who had rebelled against

Charles V and whom he had de-

feated in 1547.

The Furies , as a whole, enjoyed

considerable prominence in the

150 years since, during which they

took on different meanings in addi-

tion to the original policy .

From the late sixteenth century,

both in the Netherlands and Italy , it

was considered a suitable topic to

illustrate both the hardest difficulty

in the art ( they were huge nude

figures of powerful muscles in com-

plicated foreshortening ) , to repre-

sent the extreme pain , Case close-

ly related to the baroque sensibili-

ty .

The aim of the exhibition is to show

the birth , evolution and decline of

this theme in European art betwe-

en 1550 and 1700 over twenty

works of Italian artists , Flemish,

Dutch and Spanish , which include

the aforementioned Titian, Miguel

angel, Cornelis van Haarlem , Ru-

bens, Ribera , Salvator Rossa or

Langhetti .

The various works are distributed

around a copy of the Laocoon ,

Doloris exemplum par excellence

and inspiration declared most of

these artists.

The exhibition has been curated by

Miguel Falomir , head of Italian and

French Painting Museum and aut-

hor of the accompanying catalog .

In this February we will visit the ex-

hibition that the Museo del Prado

dedicated to " The Furies " .

An exhibition, sponsored by the

Fundación Amigos del Museo del

Prado, depicting the birth , evolu-

tion and decline of the theme of

the Furies from its entry into the Eu-

ropean art in the mid- sixteenth

century to the late seventeenth

century.

The exhibition includes twenty

works, among which a drawing by

Michelangelo from the Royal Co-

llection in London , and paintings

by Rubens, Rombouts , Glotzius ,

Assereto , Pink or Langetti .

The Museo del Prado brings his co-

pies of Titian, Ribera and chained

Ticio Gregorio Martinez, acquired

in 2011.

All these works illustrate why the

success of the Furies for 120 years,

when the elected rulers as

political allegory and painters as an

excellent vehicle to represent the

hardest difficulty in the art, both in

its formal aspect ( they were huge

nude figures in unlikely foreshorte-

ning ) as expressive as representing

the epitome of pain.

It is known as Furies four characters

of classical mythology : Tityus , Si-

syphus , Ixion and Tantalus, who

were among the many convicts

who populated the Greco-Roman

Hades. It was however in the Re-

naissance when these characters

were charged entity as a whole.

His emergence as such in the histo-

ry of art is dated to the mid-

sixteenth century and was responsi-

ble for Mary of Hungary , sister of

Charles V and governor of the Net-

Le Corbusier agreed to rebuild

the Chapel of Ronchamp, in

eastern France, destroyed by

bombing during the war, and

ended in 1955.

The Franco-Swiss architect and

recreated on the summit of

Mount Bourlemont , " a place of

silence , prayer , peace, inner

joy " by his own definition .

This haven of peace however

suffered an attack by vandals ,

who left to smithereens the large

main window of the chapel.

Drawn and signed by the artist ,

half a meter high by wide, it was

the largest site .

The Le Corbusier Foundation has

called for urgent measures to

preserve the chapel, a petition

extends to all the work of the ar-

chitect.

About seven-thirty in the after-

noon on Friday, January 17th , a

nun of the neighboring monas-

tery built in 2011 and designed

by architect Renzo Piano disco-

vered degradation and gave

the warning to the gendarmerie.

The perpetrator of the attack

forced entry into the building ,

on the list of French landmarks in

1967 as part of the heritage of

the twentieth century.

They shattered the left main win-

dow , in which Le Corbusier had

drawn a moon with a human fa-

ce and the only chapel he had

signed.

The vandals also tried unsuc-

cessfully to enter the bookshop

church store and pulled a box

collection of concrete, which

was empty and appeared outsi-

de the building.

Thousands of pieces of stained

glass are now in the hands of a

glazier sent by the Regional Di-

rection of Cultural Affairs , to de-

velop a copy of the original .

Currently , the chapel , which

receives each year about

80,000 tourists visit and faithful,

remains open to the public.

It has placed a wooden board

to fill the void left by the win-

dow , waiting for the new copy.

The gendarmerie meanwhile re-

quested the cooperation of citi-

zens to give to the authors of the

act of vandalism, over which ti-

me seems to have little informa-

tion .

In the month of March in Bue-

nos Aires presented the exhibi-

tion 1950: The triumph of de-

sign - signed Glasses : Den-

mark, Netherlands, Finland,

Italy and USA , Collection of

the National Museum of De-

corative Arts .

The National Museum of De-

corative Art counts among its

rich heritage with pieces of

glass and ceramics from the

1950s that were donated to

the Museum through the acti-

ve management of Dr. Jorge

Prieto Director of the Museum

between 1956 and 1963 who

interested and encouraged

embassies and collectors to

make such donations.

The term " design " derives

from the Italian disegno : dra-

wing. Design is a process of

creation and development to

produce a new object or me-

dium. Requires consideration

of functional , aesthetic and

symbolic aspects . Includes

several steps: observation , re-

search, analysis , testings ,

physical or virtual modeling ,

adjustments and prior to the

final production of the ob-

ject , especially in the indus-

trial sector adaptations.

This exhibition culminates a se-

ries of themed temporary ex-

hibitions of applied arts and

industrial design produced

during the 1950s in our country

and in some European coun-

tries. In 2006, Sweden introdu-

ced Crystals . Design 1950 in

2007-2008 Lucrecia Moyano

Muniz . Argentine Design Ce-

ramics 1950 and 2011 in Swe-

den. Design 1959 that allowed

the visiting public enjoy this

Other trends. Fourth Anniversary of El Greco.

The Greek with unpronounceable

name that took root in Toledo is

honored for his adopted land four

hundred years after his death . Do-

menikos Theotokopoulos died on

April 7, 1614 and, as in the case of

many other geniuses , his fame ca-

me as honorary laurel when he

could no longer enjoy. Such is the

account that you have , that the

old Manchego capital has named

2014 as " The Year of Greco" .

Although born in the island paradi-

se of Crete, Italy was the closest

witness to the artistic growth of the

young Domenico. Their home

ground immediately hung the label

" teacher " , which allowed him to

learn from masters such as Titian.

After passing through Rome was

leaving crumbs all over the Italian

geography, from Florence to Vero-

na, Padua and Parma through .

Italy was their playground until he

the painter and, like all good histo-

rical epic , love for a Toledo artisan

encouraged him to pack . In Tole-

do had better luck and fell into

grace intellectuals and clergy, who

allowed him to live the most fruitful

period of his life .

The jinx of Toledo

As the popularity grew painter , To-

ledo lost its cultural role . The Court

was of the city and left it to the

Church. Clerical images gradually

flooded the industry in the area,

and our painter was feeding her

family thanks to the priests and

their " austere " orders. Paradoxica-

lly , some of these paintings , as Es-

polio or The Burial of the Count of

company has been brilliant des-

pite being a firm " born into the

crisis ," as regards one of its foun-

ders and managing director,

Juan Carlos Moreno.

Antonio Garcia and Moreno

himself is responsible for the

company engaged in the ma-

nufacture of glass curtains ,

which has become a leader in

providing mobile professionals

ceilings and panoramic terraces

enclosures .

In just six years, has closed Acris-

talia 2013 with a turnover of over

three million euros , presence in

more than fifteen countries and

an office in Sao Paulo ( Brazil ) .

There has not been a bed of ro-

ses, recognizes the managing

director of the firm, which recalls

how in 2007 , he and his child-

hood friend , Antonio Garcia,

were raised to launch your own

project.

" Antonio worked as a carpen-

ter , knew very well the area and

knew there was a niche we

could fill with a new business

model ."

An idea and a strong entrepre-

neurial spirit were the seeds for

the company begins to roll .

However, " this was not enough ,

as the Spanish market during

these years was in decline ." So ,

after a major commitment to ex-

port began to be implemented

in other countries.

Performing a curious project.

The Granada architectural Se-

rrano + Baquero presented in

Volume 1 of his project Pe-

chakucha Night 2013 " 33 dis-

placed glasses ."

In the words of Paloma Ba-

quero : "Two months ago we

commissioned a curious pro-

ject : managing the decom-

missioning of an academy

that was going to close and

build 8 classrooms in the base-

ment of the headquarters that

the company maintained , all

on a shoestring . "

"In the room to left found 33

glasses , which were to be re-

moved and thrown away. "

"Our proposal was the displa-

cement of these glasses with

them to build needed classro-

oms , giving a new life to this

Exhibition "Nature of Glass".

The exhibition of works in mo-

saic " Ka'avo Itavera " Cecilia

Quinones will be discussed on

Monday February 18 to Tues-

day March 5 in the gallery of

the Cultural Center Citibank

(Mariscal Lopez and Cruz del

Chaco) , in Asuncion, Para-

guay . Access will be free .

Ka'avo Itavera ( Glass Nature )

brings together works that ad-

dress the theme of ecology

with reference to nature.

This series represents some

species found in Paraguay ,

and common objects , in so-

me households, such as a

container shaped concrete

swan .

The end of the sample is to

show nature in a fragile and

vulnerable state.

In the words of the speaker

Cecilia Quinones, the use of

venecitas ( mosaics ) Main

Obsidian. Natural glass (I).

Obsidian is an element of na-

ture that by its brightness , co-

lor and contrast to the com-

mon hardness of rocks and

crystals that make up the wi-

der world of minerals.

From the geological point of

view , the Obsidian is a volca-

nic glass formed by the sud-

den confrontation of lava rich

in silica.

It is classified as " glass " be-

cause its atomic structure is

disordered and chemically

unstable , and therefore its

surface has an opaque cove-

ring called cortex.

In physical appearance, and

according to their degree of

purity and chemical composi-

tion , obsidian can be trans-

parent, translucent , shiny and

reflective , presenting colors

ranging from black to gray ,

depending on the thickness of

the part and the reservoir from

which comes .

Thus, can be found in shades

of green , brown , violet and

sometimes blue , along with a

variety known as " obsidian

mecca " , characterized by its

reddish-brown color due to

the oxidation of certain metal

components.

What value does a ball ?

- Balls are cheap toy market.

We are selling factory to 7 cents

a ball , after it sold the business

from 10 cents to a dollar. The

bag of 100 balls sell it to 7 pesos

and kiosks sell at 20 and 25 pe-

sos. We also have seasons in

which the pellets are more sold .

What is the time class is the sea-

son to play ball in March orders

balls start playing until August ,

September, October . After that

loosens and sell little, what we do

ball .

What were the most difficult ti-

mes for the production of pe-

llets ?

- The worst years were the 90 .

de. It was a very bad decade for

us . My old then made a decision

400 thousand balls a day.

And the highlights ?

a profitable business. Everything

began to change from the 2002

And at the factory to play?

New face of Torre Pelli.

In the middle of last year everything

that Torre Pelli (whose first stone was

laid seven years ago ) would be

ready in the second half of 2014 ,

four years late.

But now estimates suggest that not

open until the first quarter of 2015.

The Vertical Glass House was

designed by Yung Ho Chang

as participation in the Resi-

dential Design Competition

organized by Shinkenchiku Ja-

panese architecture magazi-

ne in 1991.

Chang received an Honora-

ble Mention for this project.

Twenty years later in 2013, the

West Bund Biennale of Archi-

tecture and Contemporary

Art in Shanghai decided to

build it as one of its perma-

nent pavilions.

The Vertical Glass House is a

prototype of urban housing

and discusses the notion of

transparency in vertical, while

serving as a critique of the

transparency of the modern

movement horizontally or as a

home , always open to the

landscape, provides no priva-

cy.

The Vertical Glass House is on

one side and somewhat spiri-

tual : closed with transparent

walls and floors and the roof,

the house opens to the sky

and the earth, its inhabitants

positioning right in the middle ,

and creating a place for me-

ditation.

On the other hand , the Verti-

cal Glass House is material:

the vertical transparency con-

nects all its parts , furniture ,

stairs , in a home system and

provides another reading of

the modern theory of

"architecture as a machine

for living" .

The structure erected in

Shanghai was built in 2013 ac-

cording to the initial design

scheme developed by

Chang and Atelier FCJZ .

With a size of less than 40

square meters, the four-story

residence is closed with solid

concrete walls leaving little vi-

sual connection to your im-

mediate environment.

The walls were made of rough

wood formwork at external

joints and soft on the inside to

give a contrasting texture to

the surface from the inside

out .

Inside the bunker , a singular

pillar of steel is in the center,

with steel beams that divide

the space into quarters and

within each domestic activity

with concrete walls .

All floors of the house are

composed vertical glass glass

slabs 7 cm thick flying beyond

the concrete shell through

horizontal slots in the facade.
