aid to so many Northshore graduates).

A 2006 graduate of Bothell High School and itsConstruction Academy, B J Brown is remembered as an

amazing athlete who enjoyed skiing, snowboarding, hiking, climbing, wakeboarding, surfing, bicycling and hunting. Hismany accomplishments included completing RAMROD (a150-mile around Mt. Rainier in one day) at the age of 17

and summiting all five mountains in Washington -- includingMt. Rainier -- at the age of 14.

The scholarship is for a young person who most sharesBJ’s character and spirit.” He especially loved the subjects

of math and science and those courses became morerelevant when he entered the Construction Academy in his

senior year. It was in this program that BJ found his realpassion doing an internship with GLY Construction in the

spring of his senior year. He aspired for a career inconstruction management. B J died in August of 2006 from

    an auto accident.

The 2016 B J Brown scholarship of $2,000 was funded jointly by the Foundation andBJ’s family. It was awarded to Bothell graduate Rocio Barajas, now attending UW

    Bothell studying communications and education.
