Frankenmuth means “Courage of the

Franconians”. This charming town was

founded in 1845 by a group of fifteen

German-Lutheran missionaries. Today

the city boats over 5,000 residents who

take pride in their town of beautiful flow-

ers, German heritage, and authentic Ba-

varian architecture. And of course

“wunderbar food”!

Day 1: Enjoy the relaxing ride north

through Ohio, Indiana and Michigan. The

beautiful Bavarian Inn Lodge, located in

downtown Frankenmuth, will be your home

for the next two nights. From here you can

walk over the covered bridge to River Place,

which has 36 shops and attractions. You

will be treated to a Strudel making experi-

ence at the Lodge! Tonight, dinner with

entertainment is included at the Lodge.

Savor a traditional Bavarian meal of Jager

Schntzel (a meaty center cut pork loin chop

topped with Bechamel Bavarian Mushroom

sauce), potato cheese dumplings, a hot

vegetable (chef’s choice), breadsticks, a

tossed salad and Frankenmuth Torte for

dessert. The rest of the evening is yours to

explore at your own pace. (D)

Day 2: Begin your day with breakfast at

the Lodge before meeting your guide for a

City tour of this charming Bavarian commu-

nity. There is much more to this town than

its’ Main Street. Next you will be treated to

a narrated paddlewheel boat ride on the

Cass River which runs through the heart of

Frankenmuth. Lunch will be on your own

before departing for a complete change in

culture. Only fifteen miles from Franken-

muth, you will feel like you are in a different

world. You will be visiting a Japanese Cul-

tural Center and Tea House. There are only

five of these Tea Houses in the United

States. Here you will tour the garden and

learn the history of the Tea House. Experi-

ence tea and a special treat. Later, you re-

turn to the Bavarian Inn. Tonight you will

enjoy a family style dinner at the hotel with

a wine tasting. Sample 3 German wines as

you dine on a delicious chicken dinner. Af-

ter dinner, the evening is yours to explore

more of this charming town. (B, Tea, D)

Day 3: Breakfast at the hotel before check-

ing out. A trip to Frankenmuth wouldn’t be

complete without a visit to Bronner’s

Christmas Wonderland. The size of 1½

football fields, Bronner’s has over 50,000

gifts and all the trimmings that are needed

to make your holiday home perfect. Even if

you don’t decorate for the holidays it is a

great place to visit. You will find yourself

humming your favorite holiday song as you

browse. Then, begin your journey home,

filled with fond memories and maybe a few

trinkets or treats from your time spent on

this Bavarian Getaway! (B)

Certain components of this tour may be non-refundable upon booking Deposits are refundable for any cancellation received 60 days prior to depar-ture. 59-45 days prior to departure: a cancellation fee amounting to 25% of total price or deposit (whichever is greater) will be charged. 44-31 days prior: 50%. 30 days and under 100%. Cancellation insurance is available , highly recommended and non-refundable.
