Training at MTS

Our new training service offers a wide range of courses suitable for all kinds of industries and is already receiving some great feedback from attendees. Rachel Court, MTS in-house trainer said; “As well as must-have courses for workers in the water utility and drainage industries, we also offer Manual Handling and Emergency First Aid at Work training suitable for all kinds of trades. We have courses for both operatives and supervisors needing New Roads and Street Works Signing, Lighting and Guarding qualifications. Plus we’re now offering CPC Driver Periodic Training, with weekend availability which is suitable for all kinds of driving work. All our courses can be booked for both groups of up to 12 and for individuals.”

Water industry workers who need CSCS to access construction sites should book for the EUSR Utility Water SHEA “Green Card” course with MTS. This qualification allows access to construction sites for the purposes of utilities work without the need for a separate CSCS card.

Rachel continued; “Our range of courses also includes the EUSR Water Hygiene “Blue Card” for workers in contact with fresh water.”

Listen out for our new training adverts now playing across Kent on KMFM (Medway) and KMFM DAB radio.

Wellbeing at MTS

The Wellbeing Kiosk returns to the drivers’ area at Stanley House from 15 – 31 April. Anyone working at or visiting Stanley House can take a free DIY health check, which includes height, weight, BMI (body mass index), blood pressure, pulse, body fat and visceral fat. The kiosk is courtesy of our friends at A Better Medway, who give us a lot of support and help in our wellbeing programme. They would love to hear any feedback you have regarding wellbeing at work, please take a few minutes to complete this short online survey. The MTS company code for question 1 is 1001345.

April is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month, raising awareness and funds to fight this disease that affects us all – young, old, male and female.

Similarly, a stroke can strike anyone at any time. Each May the Stroke Association holds its Make May Purple event to show support for people who have been affected by stroke and to raise funds to help with practical support.

The 2019 Dying Matters Week (13 – 19 May) will be asking whether we are ready to face death and dying, both in practical matters such as funerals and wills, but also from an emotional point of view. It’s a great challenge for everyone and we can only find the answer if we start the conversation.

Dementia Action Week (20 - 26 May 2019) unites people, workplaces, schools and communities to take action and improve the lives of people living with dementia. We all have a role to play in making the UK a dementia-friendly place to live and that’s what Dementia Action Week is all about.

All MTS employees should have received an email with a link to an online survey on 1 April. Please take this opportunity to let us know about your experiences of working at MTS.We recognise that working conditions affect worker well-being. Your responses to these questions will help us to determine our working conditions now and to monitor future improvements.

Your responses should reflect your work in the last six months. To request another link to the questionnaire please email: [email protected].

Working at MTS – have you completed the survey?
