Feasibility and Sustainability Studies Towards a Proposed Golf Course for the Prairie Band Potawatomi

•Location: Mayetta, Kansas

•Client: Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation

•Goals: create a golf course that brings money to the tribe, as well as the nearby casino, while honoring the tribe’s environmentally friendly past.

Task 1: Design and establish a significant prairie area

Task 2: Complete research in Scotland to find an aesthetic template for working natural areas into golf courses

Task 3: Develop Best Management Practices (BMPs) for the design, construction, and maintenance of the golf course

Anticipated final product

• Black book detailing all research and recommendations

• Graphic supporting materials for presentation to client

• Preparation of Scotland research and BMPs for dissemination to golf design community
