Footwear Design & Development Institute Kolkata Library Rules & Regulations The Library is primarily meant for bonafide students, faculty & staff of FDDI. 1. Library Timing Monday  Friday : 9.30 am to 5.45 pm Circulation Timing : 9.30am to 5.30pm (Issue/Return) Saturday- Sunday : 11am to 3pm The timings and days of operation shall undergo changes. 2. Membership All students, staff & faculties of FDDI, Kolkata can be member of the Library. To be a member dully filled application in prescribed form along with two recent photographs (passport size) shall be submitted to the Library. Library Rules & Regulations

The Library is primarily meant for bonafide students, faculty & staff of FDDI.

1.  Library Timing

Monday – Friday : 9.30 am to 5.45 pmCirculation Timing : 9.30am to 5.30pm

Saturday- Sunday : 11am to 3pm

2.  Membership

All students, staff & faculties of FDDI, Kolkata can be member of the Library. To be a

member dully filled application in prescribed form along with two recent photographs

(passport size) shall be submitted to the Library. Membership is granted on the express

understanding that they legally bind themselves to return all Books issued to them on

their own and obtain a ‘No-dues Certificate’ at the time of termination of their 

membership.

3.  Books Issue

A.  Privileges of members in respect of borrowing Books are given below:

B.  An over-due charge of Re. 1 per day up to one week shall be charged against each

book not returned within the due date. There after fine shall be increased to Rs. 2 per

day along with disciplinary action.

C.  A Book issued may be renewed up to 2 times provided there is no reservation against

it.

D.  A Book may be recalled before the due date if required urgently in the Library.

Failure to respond promptly may lead to suspension of library privileges.

E.  Members proceeding on long leave or on deputation etc. exceeding three months

should return the Books that are borrowed.

F.  Borrowers are requested to check if the Books being borrowed are complete and no

pages are missing in it. In case of defect or damage in the book, should be brought to

the notice of the library staff.

G.  Borrowers are responsible for the Books they borrow. Books lost, torn or damaged

(tearing of pages, damaging of binding and the like) shall attract serious action

including suspension of membership and/or two times of amount recorded in

accession register against that book has to submit. No lost Book shall be accepted

once the recovery is made.

H Certain Books are intended to be used only in the library premises. These include

reference books, Rare books, current & bound periodicals/magazines, newspapers etc.

However in special cases the librarian may authorize to issue any of the above said

Books/magazines/newspapers.

I No Book shall be returned on the day of issue.

4.  General Rules

 A. Readers and visitors are requested not to bring their belongings inside the library. .

These may be left in the property counter provided in the library. Users are advised

not to keep their valuable things in the property counter. The library accepts no

responsibility for the loss or damage of any articles so left.

B. Users are requested to leave the books on the reading table after consultation .

C. No Book issued brought to the library unless for returning.

D. Users are responsible for complying with copyright act while photocopying library

Books. 

E. Improper use of library facilities by a member will lead to the suspension/termination

of his/ her membership.

F. Silence and strict discipline should be maintained in the library by all users and the

library staff. Every one shall ensure that no reader should feel disturbed in their study

by any act of his/her.

G. Use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited inside library premises.

H. Use of eatables in the Library is strictly prohibited. Utmost care shall be taken by all

to keep the library clean.

I. All users leaving the library must show all books, folders, papers, etc. in their

possession whether these belong to the library or not at the counter of the reading

hall. Users may also be required to open for inspection any receptacle carried out

of the library.

J. The library rules and regulations shall be modified from time to time and shall be

binding on all concerned.

E-Library

 A. Computers are for educational use only. The use of the Internet in the library is

only for reference work. Accessing unauthorized sites, playing games, chatting etc.

are strictly prohibited.

B. FDDI has subscribed for online journals which is available in e-library. Students are

instructed not to change any setting in computers for the smooth functioning of e-

library. Improper use of this facility may lead to action as per Disciplinary Rule.

C. Any type of external Storage is not allowed in e-library
