    SAFETY DATA SHEET

1 - IDENTIFICATION OF THE PREPARATION AND OF THE COMPANY

    IDENTIFICATION OF THE PREPARATION

    ANODISATION SULFURIQUE S2 (code 10055)

    orS2 SULPHURIC ANODISING

USE OF THE PREPARATIONThis solution is used for anodising aluminium parts locally, using the selective brush plating process or the Dalistick tool. These electrolysis processes (brush or DALISTICK) can be applied locally, i.e. without immersion of the part, just where itis necessary. Thus, only small quantities of solutions are stored or used. With the DALISTICK, the solution circulates in a closed loop without flowing on the area to be treated.

PRODUCT CLASSIFICATION ACCORDING TO 1999/45/EC and 67/548/ECSymbol:C, risks phrases: R35

MAIN HAZARDSAdverse physicochemical effects- Fire or explosion: this product is not classified as flammable or explosive. However, it can be a secondary source of fireor explosion, for example following its action on metals (hydrogen that forms is flammable and exploding in some

concentrations with air).Adverse effects on healthAcidic and CORROSIVE preparation that can cause serious burns following a short contact (less than 3 minutes). Skindamages in its whole depth and disabling after-effects of eyes are possible if decontamination with water is not quicklyachieved.Effects on the environmentIs not classified as dangerous for the environment providing that the recommendations of the section 13 relative todisposal as well as the national or local provisions are followed.

Refer also to the paragraphs 11, 12, 13 and 15.________________________________________________________________________________________________

    4 - FIRST AID MEASURES

CONTACT WITH SKINTake off contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash immediately with plenty of water for 10 to 15 minutes. Dont hesitate totake a shower. In all cases, dont try to neutralize with bases and dont apply any cream. If an irritation appears or if thecontamination is large or in case of prolonged contact, seek medical advice.

CONTACT WITH EYESRinse immediately with plenty of water for approximately 15 minutes. Always call an ophthalmologist.

INHALATIONTheoretically, not applicable. Under abnormal conditions of use causing considerable inhalation, remove the casualtyfrom the contaminated area, let him take a rest in a well-ventilated room and seek medical advice. A delayed pulmonaryoedema may appear. A clinical, biological and radiological supervision and a treatment may be necessary in that case.

INGESTIONDont try to induce vomiting. Do not give anything to drink. Transfer quickly into hospital. Complications may appear later.

PROTECTION OF THE FIRST-AIDERSWear gloves and according to the situation: glasses, clothes and protective shoes, a mask.________________________________________________________________________________________________

    5 - FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES

    SUITABLE EXTINGUISHING MEDIADry ice, powders.

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA WHICH SHALL NOT BE USEDWater.

SPECIFIC HAZARDSPrevent any material from entering drains or waterways or soil.

Dangerous thermal decomposition products: in particular, vapours of sulphur oxides and oxygen. Hydrogen evolution ispossible.

PROTECTION OF THE FIRE-FIGHTERSBecause of the substances produced during thermal decomposition, use approved self-contained breathing equipmentand protective clothing in case of intervention.________________________________________________________________________________________________

    6 - ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONSAvoid contact with skin and eyes: wear gloves, glasses, overalls and safety boots. In case of contact, dispose of allcontaminated clothing and shoes and wash thoroughly in water.

ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONSDo not allow the product to be thrown away. Recover as much as possible for processing within the firm or by anapproved centre.

METHODS FOR CLEANING UPWith water to remove all non-recoverableproduct. Before throwing rinsing water, check the pH is between 5.5 and 8.5.________________________________________________________________________________________________

    7 - HANDLING AND STORAGE

HANDLINGUse as supplied. Close containers (in PE) tightly after use with the original cap. Do not re-use containers with anotherproduct.

STORAGEStore in a room on a spill-retaining vat away from alkaline or reducing products, metals and flammable compounds. Keepin original containers only, between 5 and 30C if possible away from direct sun-light. The maximum recommended shelflife is three years from the date of manufacture under normal conditions of storage.________________________________________________________________________________________________

    8 - EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION

EXPOSURE CONTROLSTECHNICAL MEASURESNo drinking, eating or smoking on the workplace.Maintain the premises and the workplace in a perfect state of cleanliness and clean them frequently.

As the product is used at ambient or cold temperature during a short time, the values below are generally not reached. They depend on the treatment time, the surface area treated and on the quality of the workshop air extraction.

    EXPOSURE LIMIT VALUES IN AIR

    Sulphuric acid

    France: decisions of 26 October2007, of 30 June 2004, INRS fileND 2098

    Average value (8h) = 1 mg/m3

    Limit value (15 min) = 3 mg/m3

    (INRS file ND 2098)

    Directives 2006/15/EC,2000/39/EC and 91/322/EC

    Not applicable

PERSONAL PROTECTIONProvide a shower, a powerful tap and sink unit and an eye basin near the workplace.- Respiratory protection: during brush electrolysis, provide as far as possible an inhaling of the sprays / vapours where

they are created and extraction out of the premises. Or work in a ventilated room and wear if necessary a filteringFFP3 mask (EN 149:2001 standard) or a E2P3 cartridge (EN 405:2002 standard).

During electrolysis with the DALISTICK tool, these measures are not necessary, work taking place in a closed loop.

    - Hand protection: wear imperatively gloves (in nitrile, neoprene or PVC).- Eye protection: wear imperatively glasses with lateral protections or a facial screen. Do not wear contact lenses.- Skin protection: wear overalls and safety boots.________________________________________________________________________________________________

    12 - ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION

There are no ecological data on the preparation.Prevent any material from entering drains or waterways or earth .In general, a pH lower than 5 is fatal.

    ECOTOXICITYBibliographic data concerning sulphuric acid at 94-98 %:FISH-LC50 (24h) = 82 mg / L, DAPHNIA-EC50 (24h) = 29 mg / L.MOBILITYSulphuric acid is very mobile in soils and dissolves quickly in water.

    PERSISTENCE AND DEGRADABILITY-

BIOACCUMULATIONSulphuric acid has a weak bioaccumulative potential.

    OTHER ADVERSE EFFECTSNo other information.

According to the applicable EC directives, it is not appropriate to apply theN symbol DANGEROUS FOR THE

    ENVIRONMENTto this preparation.________________________________________________________________________________________________

    13 - DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS

This product and water used for rinsing must not be thrown away notably because of their acidity and their content inmetals after use. They must be processed within the firm or destroyed by an approved organization.Contaminated packaging if not re-used with the same product is also special waste to be sent to an approvedorganization for recycling or disposal.

Classification according to the commission directive 2000/532/EC of 3 May 2000 and its modifications (in particular2001/118/EC, OJ L47). Use the mandatory documents to follow-up the waste products.
