Note:This is a quick and easy ice breaker that works well to get groups talking and become more familiar with each other. This activity may be adapted several ways. Participants are to introduce themselves by using word associations from the letters of their first name and first initial of their last name.

Objectives:Participants will learn about each other.

Length of Time Needed: 10 Minutes

Materials Needed:Markers or pens8 ½ x 11 size sheets of paper, preferably colored paper

What to Say and Do:1. Pass out colored paper to each participant2. Ask participants to fold their paper in half lengthwise3. On the left side, ask them to write in BIG letters their first

name and the first initial of their last name. (i.e. SUSAN Z)4. Ask the participants to use the letters of their first name and

the first initial of their last name to use words that tells something about them or something that describes them.

5. Once all participants have completed the activity, go around the room and ask them to share their responses.

H= Helpful

Another adaptation would be to use the letters of your first name and last initial do describe different fruits or vegetables or foods you like to eat. Be creative.
