COMEBACK KIDSEastern is 3-3 this season when opponents score first and 2-2 when itscores first. In the games EOU has won this season it has outscored oppo-nents 70-17 in the final quarter. In the four losses this year, theMountaineers have been outscored 66-23 in the first quarter. EasternOregon has been outscored 101-75 in 2010 in the opening quarter of playaltogether in 2010.

BATTLE IN THE AIREastern Oregon and Rocky Mountain have two of the most prolific offensesin the NAIA. The programs lead the Frontier Conference in passing offenseper game and are near the top of the nation. EOU is 16th in the NAIA with2,389 passing yards this season, and the Bears are sixth with 2,686 yardsthrough the air. Conversely, the two passing defenses are near the bottomof the conference, RMC is fourth allowing an average of 236.9 passingyards per game and Eastern is sixth allowing an average of 275.9 yards.

LUCKY NUMBER SEVEN?Eastern is playing for its seventh six-win season in the school’s 81-yearfootball history. With a victory Saturday the Mountaineers would be 6-5 forthe year. There has only been 20 seasons in the program’s history thathave ended with a record above .500. EOU last put back-to-back winningseasons together in 1979 and 1980. Eastern Oregon went 6-4 in 1979 and8-1 in 1980, the best season in the school’s history.
