Looking for real stories of couples, inspiration, advice, and/or potential venues for a wedding? Artfully Wed is a fantastic blog which features just that. It has been rated as one of the top wedding blogs of 2014. This comes as no shock as the style, quality, and overall content of this blog is inspiring not just for a student like me studying wedding planning and management, but to anyone whose interest revolves around creating memorable experiences for a loved one, a client, or perhaps for yourself.

There are a number of reasons why I chose Artfully Wed as one of my favorite wedding blogs out of many. 1. Structure: Readers can easily maneuver through the blog in such a way that your eyes don’t end up wandering through the pages. There is a steady flow and rhythm to the way the content is posted. I like how each blog post is trapped in a boxlike post with a thumbnail without revealing much of the text until you click on it. I find this style of posting brings more structure and makes it easier to distinguish between posts. Also there are barely any widgets, which can sometimes be messy and distracting on the side of the page, which again makes the content more readable.

2. Special feature: One handy tool in this blog which distinguishes it from the rest is the ‘search’ tool on the upper left corner of the page. It is a unique, user-friendly tool to have in a blog. The reader can save time and quickly type in a word in the ‘search’ bar to check if the blog contains a certain thing.

3. Variety: I like how this blog takes the word ‘wedding’ into a whole and doesn’t only concentrate on one aspect of it. It helps to give an overview of the various things which make up a wedding. I will be picking out one post from each category (except ‘vendors’ and ‘venues’) and sharing my opinion on each subject.

I Do

I find it enjoyable that this blog also shares real stories of couples who get engaged and married. It gives us readers the opportunity to get a glimpse of the different themes and decorations in each wedding.

For all you nature lovers, here’s a summer inspired location for your prenuptial photos, in the middle of a forest near a beautiful waterfall. This post beautifully captures the tranquility of nature.
