Fire statistics

In 2016, there were 139,700 fires in Russia, which killed 8,760 people, injured 9,909 people, and caused property damage for 14,324 bln rub.

According to FSRI of the Ministry of Emergency of Russia, fires from electrical equipment countrywide include: • 26%, at the enterprises of certain ministries and authorities; • Share of fires from electrical installations reaches 38%; • In residential buildings - 32%; • In private houses up to 70% of fires is caused by electrical installations.

Arc Fault Detection Device (AFDD)

• AFDD is in fact the third stage of development of electrical mains protection devices, following automatic circuit breakers and RCDs.

• It is installed in the distribution board on DIN-rail. • It is equipped with AFDD-I control device designed to configure and verify

functioning at the places of operation. • AFDDs identify arc in the protected circuit and automatically disconnect it from the mains.

Standard equipment for protection of electrical circuits

To protect electrical line the automatic circuit breakers are used for overcurrent protection (hereinafter ACB, see GOST R 50345-99), as well as circuit breakers operated by differential current (RCD, see GOST R IEC 60755—2012).

In November 2016, the State Budgetary Institution of Moscow, the Moscow City Innovation Agency, decided to include the products of ECOLIGHT Ltd. in the list of innovative, high-tech products and technologies. The AFDD project is a participant in the Skolkovo Innovation Center.
