DRAFT MASTER PLAN AND DRAFT PUBLIC DOMAIN PLAN – BAULKHAM HILLS TOWN CENTRE

Council is seeking comment on the draft Master Plan and Public Domain Plan which will guide future development of the Baulkham Hills Town Centre and improvements to public spaces. Through these documents a vision is established and recommendations are made with respect to town centre elements, landmark locations, building design, commuter car parking and the upgrade of public transport.

The draft Master Plan promotes higher density forms of housing and a mixture of employment and retail uses within the Town Centre. It identifi es key sites with design principles to promote buildings that contribute to a safe, active and vibrant street environment. It has been developed to set the framework for future land use planning and infrastructure decisions.

The draft Public Domain Plan provides Council and developers involved in the revitalisation of the Baulkham Hills Town Centre with the information needed to plan and design for improvements within the public spaces. The Plan identifi es consistent street furniture such as paving, seating, bins, banner and fl ag poles, bus shelters and landscaping which are to be used throughout the town centre and outlines the vision and design concepts the key public spaces.

Public Exhibition Period: Tuesday 19 August 2014 to Friday 19 September 2014.
