Entrepreneurs: Take a Swing at FastPitch 2016 The Creative Coast is gearing up for FastPitch 2016 , an annual event that provides a fast, exciting environment for entrepreneurs to pitch business ideas and gain experience, contacts, coaching and more! Applicants will present a three-minute pitch for established entrepreneurs, investors and an engaged audience. Participants will receive valuable feedback and potential funding for their endeavors.The competition takes place March 4 at The Creators’ Foundry 415 W. Boundary Street from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Pitcher or participant, find your spot at FastPitch! Applications are open and the deadline to apply is January 24, 2016. Tickets for audience members are on sale now and include, lunch, a full day of pitches, networking, and happy hour. Last year’s overall winner, Lara Neece, with the bicycle wrap skirt , took home over $2,000 in prize money and has since run a successful Kickstarter campaign yielding over $20,000. All entrepreneurial ventures are welcome and participants will compete in one of three categories: Student Entrepreneurs, Service-Based Entrepreneurs or Product-Based Entrepreneurs. If you have an idea or are just starting your business, this event is the perfect platform for you! Along with a short application, contestants will be asked to write a one-page summary of their business, which will be used as part of the final assessment. Savannah’s Advanced Technology and Design Center (ATDC) will host a storytelling workshop for all applicants. This will be a chance for anyone to learn how to create a compelling elevator pitch, find your target audience and cultivate your business plan. One-on-one coaching and mentoring sessions will be included prior to the event for all accepted contestants to practice their pitches and refine presentation techniques.
