Farm Business Experience Years of experience are counted for Farm Business experience as defined in “Program Eligibility” in the MPNP program guide. You must have a

minimum of three years farm business experience of owning, operating, and managing your own farming operation within the last five years

supported by verifiable documents.

Adaptability You must indicate how your farm business experience will transfer directly to current Manitoba farm production industry. You must be able to

demonstrate that your adaptability, specifically relating to your practical farming skills, technical knowledge and experience in technological

based farming practices will transfer directly to Manitoba’s current primary farm production industry. Specifically, your experience and existing

farm operation must be comparable to a current Manitoba farming operation in terms of technology utilization, technological practices

employed, scale, equipment utilized, production output, and similar Manitoba primary production.

Official Languages Proficiency Proficiency in either of Canada’s two official languages, English and French, is an important adaptability skill that can accelerate your ability to

become economically established in rural Manitoba.

Farm Business Research Visit to Manitoba The farm business research visit must be conducted no more than one year prior to the submission of the Interest Guideline submission.
