Q.27 data recording error: Two response options were inadvertently combined into one response. The responses for 4 or more times and I’ve used ‘other drugs, but not in the past 30 days were entered into the same response cell, invalidating those responses.

Q.28 data recording procedure: Respondents were inadvertently allowed to choose multiple responses to this question. If neighboring responses were recorded, they were merged into one response by alternating the response “value” (1+2 =1, then 2, etc.), if the responses were separated, a “mean was calculated to the nearest whole number (1+3=2) etc. For consistency, the same procedure was used for the responses from 2008.

of the other students also used tobacco 55% stated they thought it was ok for

past 30 days believed that some, or a lot of harm (physically or otherwise) could result if they used tobacco

Perception of student ‘other drug’ usage was down across all grades
Perception of student ‘other drug’ usage ‘being ok’ by other students was up in grades 8 & 9
Perception of student ‘other drug’ usage ‘being ok’ by parents was relatively unchanged with slight increases in grades 6, 9 & 11
Ability to obtain ‘other drugs’ was believed to be less ‘easy’ in grade 11
Ability to obtain ‘prescription drugs that were not prescribed for them’ was believed to be more ‘easy’ in grades 6 & 8, and slightly less ‘easy’ in grades 9 & 11
