Farewell to a Good Cat A Tribute to Chat-chats Life, Part 3: The Final Years Slide 2 In 2010, while Chat-chat was still adjusting to life in Burwood, the family dynamics changes once more, with the arrival of another creature that will take what little was left of our attention from Chat-chat: Alma! Slide 3 Very quickly Chat-chat learned that this one was not about sweet cuddles and gentle pats, as even at 6 months she would try to dismember him if we werent looking. Slide 4 Their relationship improved greatly with the introduction of solids... But still, Chat-chat tried to keep out of Almas reach. Slide 5 When Alma turned one year old she was a lot better at handling the cats gently and he no longer avoided her. He got especially interested if she had something good to eat... Slide 6 Bottom right: Chat-chats last collar, which Hahgoot chose Slide 7 Last Fathers Day together Right: in the bean bag that he loved dearly, and where he was found dead on the 15 th of December, 2011, late at night, from a suspect heart attack. Slide 8 Top: last family portraits together Right: last photo alive, a day before his sudden death Slide 9 Chat-chats burial morning was very hard for all of us, but especially for Barak, who was strongly attached to this loving goofy cat that well miss dearly in our life in Emu Plains. Slide 10 Barak wrote a poem in Hebrew (and translated to English) as a tribute to Chat-chat If you are having problems seeing the text, you can read it straight from Baraks blog: http://morbidick.wordpress.com/category/poetry/ , , So Long Bonbonyer Death came and tapped on your shoulder And was slightly surprised by the immediate Aauw He took you with him, setting you free From the anxieties, from the fixations, from cages Real and unreal Leaving us with what once used to be a purring lump of love Concealed in its bean bag in a longlasting dreamfulness Gazing on eternity And a smile of a cat
