FAO-GIAHS Logo Block Graphic Guidelines3
IntroductionRational
This document provides guidelines for the correct application of the FAO-GIAHS logo block to ensure consistency of the GIAHS identity across internal and external communications. With this objective, the presented logo block must be incorporated as showcased in this document and in the "Guidelines, Form and Waiver of Liability for the use of the FAO-GIAHS Logo block". The FAO-GIAHS logo block is composed of two elements: the FAO logo and GIAHS emblem. The GIAHS emblem must be always accompanied by the FAO logo in order to appear as a logo block in all communication forms.
The GIAHS emblem is a combination of two components: a pictogram and a logotype that spells ut the name of the programme “Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems”. Regarding the latter, in this logotype the words “Agricultural Heritage” are noticeably prominent compared to the rest of them. Regarding the pictogram, it is composed of a hand and a landscape, which represents the relationship between humans and agriculture. The different colour palette depicted such as blue, green and yellow, represents all agricultural sectors. The different shades of colours used in it highlight the seasons of planting, growing and harvesting. Finally, the pictogram has a rounded shape that recalls the global approach of the programme.
