It was easy to recognize the serious contenders, the peasant surveyed the crowds of armed men, women and creatures that had responded to his mistress’ summons: there were many races attending. As a kipper in service to the Lady, he did not relish the possibility of having to claim spoils of combat from the Ogres or worse from a Greater Daemon. He made a mental note to ask his mistress for better arms than the cudgel he normally carried: it had cracked after having to face the last Lord and his supporters, the kipper had barely survived that retrieval. Perhaps this tournament would be his last, perhaps the mistress would chose another servant. Perhaps the mistress would refrain from participating in the events and he would be spared the challenge of demanding a mount or a weapon from the likes of Balthasar Gelt or the great elf Teclis. The kipper stumbled and looked down to find another lord’s kipper sprawled in the mud of the field where he had fallen after being run through with the weapon he had been sent to retrieve. The scream of a dragon drew him out of his thoughts and reminded him of his task, it was time to call the generals to the tournament field. It was time to see who would rise and who would fall. It was time to name a new champion and to start this Kippers’ Melee to claim the spoils of war for the masters and mistresses of the day. The answering cry of flesh hounds made him shiver and run faster to tell the Herald.

• There will be three objective markers placed on the table for every Game • One marker will be placed in the center of the table. • The additional two objective markers will be divided between the two

players and are to be placed during the Deployment phase of the game and are treated as a unit placement.

• No Objective marker may be placed within 6” of another, any table edge or a building. Exception: the marker designated for the center of the table is to be placed there regardless of what terrain is placed there.

• To claim the objective you must have a unit with a banner with within 3” of the marker

• if more than one unit is within 3” the objective is awarded to the unit with the most wounds left .

• At the start of each game, before any units are deployed: • each player randomly selects which Special Mission they will complete

by rolling a D6. If you roll a 6 re-roll the dice. • If the Mission requires you to nominate a unit, character or terrain

piece you must clearly detail it on your Score Card. • Exchange mission details with your opponent • Try to complete your mission (10 points) and stop your opponent (5

points)

(12” if Battle for the Pass)

Special Mission #4

Special Mission #5

(if your opponent has no banners at all discard this card and randomly select a new card)

Page 4: Fantasy Scenario Package.pdf

Game#4– Dawn Attack Hang Over Groggy from a night of feasting and drinking under the truce of a tournament flag your army must be told which areas of the field to stand in. While organizing your troops you realize that the haze in your eyes is not just from too much alcohol: near the centre of the field between you and your opponent stands an altar or hill that appears to be shrouded in a swirling vortex of power and realize that the Lady has called upon the Winds of Magic to test your mettle. (an alter terrain piece or hill should be placed in the center of the table if it is not already there) Scenario: The player controlling the Altar/Hill at the end of the game gains 500 VP. Altar/Hill contains the following Special Rules: As soon as a player controls the Alter the follow take effect. 1. All wizards in the controlling army within 6” of the alter/hill gain +1 to channelling attempts 2. A single wizard in the controlling army within 6” of the alter/hill may use the Wrath of the Gods (Bound Spell, Direct

Damage, Power Level 5) during their magic phase Wrath of the Gods: Select a single unit within 24” of the wizard then roll a D6. On a 2+ 2D6 Strength 4 hits are done to the unit. On a 1, your opponent gets to choose a unit within 24” of your wizard (may not include the unit the wizard is already in) and the wizard that cast the spell takes a Strength 4 hit and loses D6 dice from the power pool.

Game #5 – Declaring the Best – Battle for the Pass Nearing the end of the tournament the armies renew their efforts to prove their general to be the best. Scenario: Use the Battle for the Pass scenario. If a player controls all three objectives they receive an additional 500 VP

Game#1 – Grudge Reminder - Watchtower Facing your opponent across the field your general remembers a past battle where they were unable to get their kipper to retrieve the spoils of battle. With this reminder they are enraged and determined to be successful. Scenario: Use the Watchtower scenario with the following change: rather than the opponent controlling the Watchtower winning outright they are awarded an additional 500 Victory Points and the game goes until end of turn 6 or time

Game #2 – Across the field/Protecting Morale – Meeting Engagement Reeling from the events of the first battle, the tournament Herald announces your new opponent, your eyes meet across the field and a battle cry rises to your lips only to be answered in kind by your opponent. Eager for victory your army rushes toward battle, possibly leaving behind units, war machines or characters (as per the meeting engagement scenario). In the rush of battle someone in your army remembers you must protect the banners carried by bannermen. Scenario: Use the Meeting Engagement scenario rules with the following variation: in addition to the Meeting Engagement scenario rules you must also incorporate the Fortitude conditions from the Blood and Glory scenario. To represent facing off across a jousting field place three obstacles (fences or low bushes) in the centre portion of the table, no closer than 2” together. These are treated as obstacles, but in the rush to get across the field to meet your opponent in battle your units don’t always pay attention to the terrain. Any model or unit attempting to march, charge or flee through/over one of these obstacles must take Dangerous Terrain tests. The first army to break their enemy gains an extra 500VP, do not stop the game as directed in the Blood and Glory scenario, continue to the end of 6 turns and use the Meeting Engagement Victory Conditions

Game #3 – Feasting on Supplies– Watchtower Exhausted from a day of battle your army is marching back to your camp for the night when they spot the supply wagons bogged down in mud. Scenario: Use the Watchtower scenario with the following variation. Instead of a tower nominate or place a natural terrain piece (no buildings) near the centre of the table, this is where the supply wagons are bogged down. The player who controls the terrain piece at the end of the game gains an extra 500 VP and game goes until end of turn 6 or time.
