HOMESCHOOL GRADUATES 2009 Trevor Nathaniel Beck, son of Bill and Paula Beck, plans to attend Liberty University in the fall of 2009 to major in government with an emphasis on pre-law and a double minor in international relations and strategic intelligence. Trevor was the first homeschooler ever to receive a scholarship to the Life Leadership Conference from the Muskegon Rotary Club. He enjoys politics and has participated in model United Nations and model NATO. Apart from his interest in politics, Trevor enjoys hockey, martial arts, and music. Trevor plays the cello, guitar, drums, piano, and bass guitar. He hopes to continue playing hockey in college for Liberty University. Emily Anne Hammond is the daughter of Steve and Beth Hammond, formerly of Muskegon. She plans to attend Lansing Community College in the fall. While in high school, Emily excelled in piano and is a second-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Emily is currently employed at the Save-A-Lot grocery store in Haslett, Michigan. Kathryn Diana Kramer is the daughter of Jim and Paula Kramer. She plans to attend Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio, where she will pursue a degree in graphic design. During her high school years, Kathryn has been involved in the music worship team at her church and has gone on several missions trips, including a medical missions trip to Thailand. Working part time at Carpenter Insurance Agency, and being dually enrolled at Muskegon Community College has kept her busy. Her passion, though, is worship to the Creator through music. She has had opportunities in various venues to fulfill this passion. Once Kathryn begins her profession in graphic design, she will continue to use her passion for music. In everything that she does, Kathryn’s goal is to bring glory to her Creator. Samantha Murrell, daughter of Rob and Peggy Tuttle and Jeff and Tracy Murrell, plans on attending Grand Rapids Community College in the fall. Travis Joel Palmer, son of Ronald and Connie Palmer, plans to attend Muskegon Community College where he will pursue a degree in public safety. Travis has excelled in his public safety course at the Muskegon Area Career Tech Center. He enjoys most sports and has played on football, basketball, volleyball and soccer teams over the past several years. Allyson Renee Rose, daughter of Mark and Rachel Rose, plans to attend Aveda Institute of Cosmetology followed by Cornerstone University to pursue a degree in business administraion or counseling. She has been involved in drama as lead actress in several plays and musicals, and as hair stylist and make-up artist. She would love to continue in those areas at Cornerstone. Hannah Alexandra Saum, is the daughter of Michael and Juliet Saum. She has been a dual-enrollee at Muskegon Community College and Baker since fall of 2007. She has been accepted to the Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago, and will transfer there in the fall of 2010. During this next year, she will complete her Associate of Arts degree at Baker.
