She carried a bouquet of cream-colored Gerbera daisies. Matron of honor was Donna Greilick. Whitney Darter, cousin of the bride, served as bridesmaid. They wore strap- less sage green dresses and car- ried bouquets of Gerbera daisies. Luke Palmer was the best man, and Casey McMorrough was the groomsman. James Greilick served as the Scripture reader. Flower girl was Macey Dixon, and ring bearers were Jackson Dixon and Riley Heflin. Ushers were Cole Thomas, Jared French and Luke Johnston. Anna and Cameron Johnston were the guest book attendants. Arrangements of ivy, ferns and Gerbera daisies decorated the outside ceremony and reception, held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Benny Koontz. The couple resides in Morrilton where the bride is employed as a speech language pathologist by Arch Ford Co- op, and the groom is employed by the Arkansas Highway Department as a surveyor. Sports Solgohachia postmaster to retire July 25 The postal employees at Solgohachia Post Office invite everyone to drop by to congrat- ulate and say goodbye to the postmaster, Cheryl Paladino, who is retiring. Come between 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, July 25, in the lobby at the Solgohachia Post Office. Cake, punch and coffee will be served. Paladino began her postal career as a part-time postmaster relief at Center Ridge from 1986 to 1989, then as a rural carrier associate at Bee Branch from 1989 to 1990. In April of 1990 she became a rural carrier at Bee Branch until 1993. She was assigned three offi- cer in charge appointments at Quitman, Adona and Perry, before being sworn in as post- master at Adona on Sept. 18, 1993. She was postmaster at Adona until April 14, 1998, when she was appointed post- master at Solgohachia. She has served as postmaster of Solgohachia for 14 years and three months. Please stop by and wish her well and swap a few stories. Paladino says “It has been an honor and a privilege to serve my customers at Solgohachia for so many years and has made some wonderful memories.” She is now looking forward to spending time with all her family. Cypress Valley By JEAN WILLIAMS Headlight Correspondent This has been another long lonesome Sunday. We have had very little rain, but we do appre- ciate what we have gotten. We have sold some cattle along with a long line of other people. Tiffany and Earl Johnson, Trent, Colton and Blaine spent part of this past week with Jimmy, Kathleen and Bradley. They took the boys to Tiffany’s favorite place to go, Magic Springs Fun Park, and they had fun. The next day, Friday, they spent on Petit Jean Mountain, looked at the animals, pretty scenery and went swimming in the pool. They went home today, Sunday, after a nice vaca- tion. Sarah, Morgan, William and I ate supper with them Friday night. I was glad to hear that Verna Charton was home from the hospital and hope she continues to get better. DeAnna Story had a birthday celebration Saturday and they all had a good time playing in the pool with family and friends. I am happy to see her doing so well after her surgery. Her grandmother, Reba, joined them for the get-together. Anna, Alex and Hunter Smith have all gone to Bible school at the Methodist Church in Morrilton this week and I went with them to their program last night. They all went back this morning for another showing of it. Robert, Melba and family went to Hot Springs Saturday to visit with Melba’s sister, Gloria Welch. There aren’t many days when they can all be off from work and go at the same time. Congratulations to Justin and Jennifer Crowder who were married at Kilgore church on Saturday. Sandra spent some time with Bryan and Carter Mahan last week and will stay with them some this week. All the teachers are still hav- ing workshops at various times. Sarah, Mark and Morgan have been doing some repairs and painting on the interior of their home. I’m sure William has been giving some directions and suggestions. Bethel Parish got a good report on her tests and I’m thankful. Be careful and try to stay cool. Several flowers have blown off graves at Kilgore Cemetery. Share a smile and have a good week. Pups summer camp, youth football registration next week Morrilton Little Pups’ Youth Summer Football Camp and Youth Football Season Registration will be held at the Devil Dog Stadium July 23, 24, and 26 for the third- and fourth- grades and July 30, 31, and Aug 2 for fifth- and sixth-grades. Camp and football season registration is 6 to 7 each night with football camp from 7 to 8 each night. A limited number of slots are available for each grade for Football Season Registration. There is no limit on camp slots. Camp only is $30 (price includes camp T-shirt) and foot- ball season only is $60. Camp and football season is $75 (price includes camp T-shirt). Maurice Jeffers who was selected by the NBA’s Sacra- mento Kings in the second round of the 1991 draft and 2012 first round draft pick and Shekinna Stricklen of the WNBA’s Seattle Storm will be on hand to greet fans and sign autographs. Endzone Club elects officers, readies for season The Morrilton Endzone Club met June 25 and filled two offi- cer positions vacated by parents of graduating seniors. Michelle Burgess was elected secretary and Cindy Jolly was elected to serve as publicity coordinator for the upcoming season. Returning officers include Jill Beall, president; Jamie Poteete, vice president; and Jerry Perkins, treasurer. The Endzone Club is partner- ing with Allison Ford for its “Drive One 4 UR School” fund- raising event. On Saturday, Aug. 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Ford will donate $20 to the club for each person who comes out to the high school parking lot and test drives a new Ford vehi- cle (one per household). The Club can earn up to $6,000 during the event (up to 300 test drives), and we encour- age you all to come out and sup- port our efforts. We will also be selling hamburger meals from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day ($5) and have snow cones available for purchase. Other upcoming events for the club include running the concession stand at the Maroon and Gray games on Aug. 16-17, as well as the annual Tailgate Party before the first home game on Sept. 7. The club is currently still seeking advertisers for the field signs hung around the stadium and both meal and location sponsors to feed the teams dur- ing the season this fall.
