Family Services also distributed an additional 40 backpacks with school supplies to help middle school students in the community. Shout Out Our Anti-Trafficking Advocate, Shelby, partnered with the Brown County Housing and Homeless Coalition to provide community education regarding the prevalence and warning signs of human trafficking. 490 people registered for the training on 8/26. Training Description: This interactive training

examines ethics in the workplace and focuses on

developing healthy work relationships while

maintaining professional ethics and boundaries. Both

the NASW and APA Codes of Ethics as they relate to

collegial relationships are applied. Participants will

learn about bullying, and their own roles in promoting

a positive organizational culture.

Training Objectives:

Develop a framework for examining workplace

relationships

Identify factors associated with healthy work

relationships

Examine impact of personal values and ethics

Understand bullying and its impact on individuals,

Trainer Bio: Joan Groessl, MSW, PhD, LCSW, is

Associate Professor and Chair of the Social Work

Professional Programs at the University of Wisconsin

-Green Bay. After practicing in the field of

community mental health for twenty years, Dr.

Groessl joined the faculty at UW-Green Bay teaching

a range of courses. She has taught the graduate-level

ethics course for over ten years, completed her

dissertation on ethics and moral development levels,

and continues to research the topic. Joan is Chair of

the Continuing Education Committee of NASW-

Wisconsin and has developed curriculum and

provided ethics training for professionals across the

region for over fifteen years.

Youth Development Specialist Our Residential Program is recruiting a full-time Youth Development Specialist to work at our live-in treatment program for adolescents. The schedule for this position is on a 2 week rotation including evenings and every other weekend. Duties include working with youth who need caring adults to help them learn new skills to manage their feelings, make positive decisions, learn responsibility and develop healthy relationships. You will work with youth individually and in small group settings teaching social skills, healthy coping skills and recreation & leisure activities. In addition, you will ensure safety by providing excellent supervision and crisis management.

Make a difference in the lives of teens while gaining valuable human service experience. Become a part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team that is committed to developing positive connections with kids and families and helping them be successful in life.

Qualified applicants should possess one or more of the following qualifications: 1) a Bachelor's or Associate's Degree with a focus on child or youth care work or in a social or behavioral science field; 2) Have at least one year of successful experience working in a recognized child welfare residential setting for the type of resident population served by the program; 3) Complete the program's supervised traineeship program which specifies that an under qualified Youth Development Specialist must work with an experienced Youth Development Specialist for the first 160 hours and complete all program training and certifications as required.
