Welcome to Family News The recent Church lunch at Pete’s house was so full of people enjoying food & fellowship that I had to sit on the stairs with Daniel & Amy to eat our lunch; it was amazing because there was so much life, vibrancy and community happening before my eyes it was the church family in action. As the church, we are the house of God and God has always wanted His house to be full. Full of love, life & power as we grow as His Spiritual house, full of His Spirit and Anointing. Here in New Life Church, we have the awesome privilege and honour of being part of God’s House, His Church as we continue to advance His Kingdom in the World around us & see people saved, healed & restored it’s such an exciting & ‘full’ vision and purpose to be a part of. As I look through what’s happening in April as a church, we have some amazing things in store. The weekend away will be an excellent opportunity for us to be further equipped & envisioned in who we are called to be as the people of God. It will also be great fun as we spend time eating & sharing life together. We also have the Alive concert on Easter Sunday which will be a great opportunity for us to invite our friends & family to so they can hear more about the love & power of Jesus that they can know in their lives today. Tickets are only £5 & are available from the Bridgewater Hall box office. In April, let’s continue to pursue with all our hearts our vision of ‘Making Jesus Famous’; we are community of love & power sent into this world to share, demonstrate & proclaim the Gospel let’s allow that vision to inspire and impact our lives each day! Many Blessings, Gavin April 2011 Family News

Church Weekend Away

This month we have our Church Weekend Away at the Cefn Lea Centre in Mid Wales. This will be a significant time of fellowship, refreshing and inspiration in the Holy Spirit together.

Mick Walford (picture with his wife Lesley left) from Life Point Church in Swansea will be ministering to us on the Saturday. Mick is an inspirational teacher of the word and has a significant message from God to impart to us as a Church.

Further practical details about the weekend will be communicated out this week via email and Church in the Homes (if they haven’t been already). However, if you have any questions in the meantime please feel free to contact Hannah on email [email protected] or phone 07949 912 500.

Please note that there will be no Sunday morning meeting at the Innovation Forum on Sunday 10th April due to the Weekend Away.

Pancake Party!

Join us again at The Bridgewater Hall this Easter Sunday for a spectacular musical

celebration of the life of Jesus. Passionate music and song will be led but the King’s Church choir

and band with an inspiring message of hope and new life.

There will be no Sunday morning celebration at the Innovation Forum on the 24th April. We will be meeting in homes across Salford in the afternoon and encourage

everyone to get to the fantastic Alive 2011 event in the evening.

Meeting in Homes on Sunday 24th April at 12.30 p.m.

David & Hannah’s Home in Langworthy

Russ & Irene’s Home in Ordsall

We will be eating lunch together in each home and so please bring a contribution of food or drink to share.

It would be helpful to those who are hosting if they knew who to expect on the day, so please get in touch with them in advance.

Pastor Slava Goncharenko from New Life Church in Minsk who was last with us at "World Watch" in November 2010 has written to Churches across the UK with the following report. The church has been oppressed by the communist rulers in that nation and since we met in November things have become worse. Ministries Without Borders have created a website www.freedom4belarus.wordpress.com which will provide up to date info about the ongoing situation faced by the church in that nation. It also provides a pro-forma letter to the Belarusian Ambassador in London for people to print off, sign and send, as well as contact information for local MP's in this country.

Pease give your support to the church not only in prayer but in writing to the embassy and local MP. For the price of a few minutes and a stamp, we can add our weight to a campaign to raise awareness of the situation faced by the church in Belarus and cause outside pressure to be brought on this oppressive regime.

The Word Is At Work

“I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Saviour through your apostles.” - 2 Peter 3: 2 Words are important. All the plans and purposes of God begin with a word. In Genesis 1: 3-5 we read that “God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.” On the first day of all creation God began a work by speaking a word. In John 1: 1-3 we read “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” Without the word nothing was made that has been made and so we see that God initiates his plans and purposes with a word. The John 1 scripture also reveals another feature of the word; that it not only initiates a work of God but that it also has a life of its own and it accomplishes something. Verse 3 says that “Through the word all things were made” and so the word has a creative power also. We see this pattern in 1 Thessalonians 2: 13 when the apostle Paul writes “And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.” Writing to the Church in Thessalonica Paul speaks of when the believers came got saved they received the word of God and that the word is at work in those who believe. Isaiah 55: 10-11 reads “As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” Rest assured people of God, that he who has begun a work and spoken a word into your life, which you have received is at work in you and will accomplish the purpose for which it was sent. So, let’s not take for granted the word of the Lord to us when they come, but as Peter encourages in 2 Peter 3: 2 let us recall the words we have received to keep us strong in His way!
