As we prepare for the holiday week, I am confident that most things will look a little different this year. I suppose we have all come to expect that in this year of uncertainty. Whatever this week holds for you and your family, my prayer is that we start it off in a glorious way with worship to our God this morning. It is a blessing to be together as a spiritual family every time we have the opportunity. I have heard several say, when this is all over, I will never take for granted again getting up and coming to worship. In all the negative hype around the virus, I do hope that positive attitudes and lessons in life can develop as a result. If you are visiting today, we are honored and blessed to have you with us. Maybe you are here for the holidays to visit with family. If so, we always love seeing you come and be with us on these occasions. But there may be some from the community who are seeking a place to attend worship. There may be others who are seeking a relationship with the Lord. And there may still be others who need to learn more about the Bible and what worship to our God is all about. It is more difficult to be personal and close these days, but we are still in the ministry of teaching God and helping others draw closer to God. With that said, if we can help your spiritual journey, please let us know! As I mentioned, this week may look a little different from previous Christmas holidays, but I do hope you can find real joy in the midst of all the chaos and pandemic. Consider the following verses this week as you plan and prepare for the holidays. Luke 2:10- And the angel said to them, Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great JOY that will be for all the people.Luke 24:52- And they worshipped him and returned to Jerusalem with great JOY.Galatians 5:22- But the fruit of the Spirit is love, JOY, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,James 1:2- Count it all JOY, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds,1 John 1:4- And we are writing these things so that our JOY may be complete. 3 John 1:4- I have not greater JOY than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.Chasity, my children, and I would like to join the elders and their wives and Joshua and Morgan in wishing all of you a Merry Christmas. It is our prayer that God will bless you and your family with holiness and happiness this holiday season.
