FAMILY MEMBERS AND GUESTS In order to participate in the ceremony, we ask the gradu- ates and guests to arrive on time. Parking is available in the student lots and in the parking garage. Please allow time for travel and parking. Expect delays due to traffic and additional security measures. Doors to the Gibson Health Center (gymnasium) open at 8:00 a.m. The doors will close at 9:30 a.m. No one will be admied after the doors close at 9:30 a.m. The commencement ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. Guests should remain seated until the last graduate has exited the Gibson Health Center at the end of the cere- mony. Turn left on SW 104 Street and go to the traffic signal for SW 113 Place. Turn left onto SW 113 Place. Caps & gowns will be available after

April 18th. To pick up your cap and

gown, present your MDC ID at the

bookstore during the days and times

There is no cost for the cap and

gown if you have applied for gradu-

ation. The cap and gown are yours

to keep.

Tickets are not required to attend.

HONORARY REGALIA

Pick up honorary regalia by April

28th. To be eligible for the honors

cord, you must have a 3.7 GPA, be a

member of the Honors College or

Phi Theta Kappa and have paid your

dues. Homestead Campus Phi Theta

Kappa students must visit their ad-

visor in Room B-141. InterAmerican

Campus honors students with a

minimum GPA of 3.5 must visit the

Honors College Office in Suite IAP9.

InterAmerican honor society mem-

bers must contact their chapter advi-

sor about graduation regalia.

SPECIAL NEEDS AND

INDIVIDUALS/STUDENTS

WITH DISABILITIES

Graduates who require special assis-

tance should contact the ACCESS

department at 305-237-5175 for

Homestead Campus and (305) 237-

6360 for InterAmerican Campus, no

later than April 29th. The graduation

stage is wheelchair accessible to pro-

vide access for students with special

needs.

PHOTOGRAPHS

We have contracted with a profes-

sional photographer to take individ-

ual photos of graduates as they cross

the stage. The photo will be provid-

ed at a nominal cost. A proof of the

photo and a blank order form will be

mailed to the graduate’s listed ad-

dress. Since we are providing this

professional service to our gradu-

ates, PHOTOS MAY NOT BE TAKEN OF

INDIVIDUAL GRADUATES AS THEY

CROSS THE STAGE. The Kendall

Campus offers numerous attractive

settings for graduation pictures be-

fore and after the

ceremony.

DAY OF THE CEREMONY/

NAME CARDS

All graduates MUST bring

their MDC ID. Please report

to the Library Concourse

Building 2 by 8:30 a.m. to

obtain a card with your name

and degree. After the proces-

sional, students will remain

standing for the national an-

them. Male graduates are

asked to remove their caps for

the anthem and replace them

after being seated. This is a

very special day for many

attendees. Please be consider-

ate of other graduates and

their families. We ask that

everyone remain seated until

the end of the ceremony. Cell
