"A Lifetime of Care" is a stunning illustration of SCH as a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Notre Dame and our enduring mission to proclaim God's goodness through a healing ministry to the people of Eastern Kentucky through the hearts and hands of our staff. The sculpture is breathtaking from a distance, but as you get closer, it becomes even more captivating. The attention to detail on these six figures is truly incredible. Many aspects were inspired by pieces of St. Claire history. For instance, the doctor’s stool and stethoscope are exact replicas of those used by Dr. Louise Caudill and other instruments are replicas of those once used by Dr. Warren Proudfoot. The cross around the sister’s neck is modeled after those worn by the Sisters of Notre Dame and the sister's shirt was patterned off one once belonging to Sr. Jeanne Frances Cleves. This beautiful tribute to St. Claire HealthCare’s heritage was created by local artist and former Morehead State University professor Steve Tirone, MFA, and was made possible by contributions from the St. Claire Auxiliary. We would like to extend a special thank you to both Tirone and the St. Claire Auxiliary for this amazing gift to our campus. A Lifetime of Care
