Balances are through April 18th. Please look over the sheet closely to make sure every- thing is correct. If you are un- sure, or know that something is missing, please contact Trish at [email protected] as soon as possible. Final balance sheets will go home the first week of May. Balances (if any) need to be taken care of by May 16, 2018. Students are welcome to wear their favorite pair of jeans for one dollar! This week’s money will go to our Chess Club! Students will be able to wear their uniform polo, spirit shirt, or any SMMCS organizational shirt! St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Community is looking for a full-time Communications Coordinator. This position will be based out of the Parish Office and will work with all ministries of the parish, including the school. Duties will include updating the parish website, bulletin boards, weekly announce- ments, Facebook page for the parish and using Flocknotes for communicating information to parishioners. The position will also publish the parish bulletin, parish news- letter, school newsletter, pamphlets and parish wide mailings. Other duties will be assigned as necessary to assist with office proficiency. This position requires excellent interper- sonal and communication skills, as well as writing and proofreading skills. E-mail résumé and cover letter to Wanda Conley at [email protected]. Please join us on Sunday, May 13th (Mother’s Day) for the 11:00am Mass in celebration of SMMCS! The school will be receiving the 2nd collec- tion for this Mass. That’s Right!!! The successful bidders during the Spring Carnival’s Silent Auction will be the Teacher for a Day on Tuesday, May 1st!

Congratulations to Chimere Egesi and SaNya Southern, who both qualified for the GHCAA Track Championship this Saturday at Strake Jesuit High School! Chimere will be compet-ing in the 200m dash and SaNya

in the 400m dash. Good luck ladies!

St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church is looking for experienced part time nursery attendants for its Mother's Day Out program, which will open later this year. The position will be 20 hours/plus per week. On March 22nd, SMMCS celebrated the $25,000 Lion’s Fund goal by building a Human Sundae! The students voted, and the “winner” was Coach Eddy, and as you can see from the pictures, the

students had a great time making him into a Human Sundae. Thanks to Coach Eddy for being a great sport and to the students who covered him with ice cream,

chocolate, sprinkles, and whipped cream!

SMMCS will again participate in All for Books! All for Books is an easy and effec ve way to unite the school community and provide more books for kids and teachers. All funds collected through All for Books are used to buy more books from the Book Fair.

Funds can be used to: · Give more students a chance to participate in the Book Fair. · Add new books to the school library. · Help teachers build and refresh their classroom libraries. · Donate to another school or community organization in need of books. Scholastic Book Fairs® then matches those monetary donations with a donation of up to $1 million in books from The Scholastic Possible Fund, which distributes books to children through organiza-tions such as the Kids In Need Foundation, Reader to Reader, Inc., and the National Center for Families Learning.
