Arrival One of our goals at Plaza Middle School, as well as in Park Hill, is to provide a safe and caring environment for its students and families. In an effort to assist us in achieving our goals, we have created a drop-off and pick-up plan that focuses on student safety. To help with the flow of traffic, please pull all the way up to the front and allow students to exit the car on the side of the car closest to the sidewalk and building. We use a single and double lane drop off procedure in the 2020-21 school year. Please be mindful of both lanes as we will have students crossing.

Arrival Procedures (single lane): We ask that all students be dropped off in the front of the school along the sidewalk closest to the building using one lane only. Please do not use the passing lane for drop off due to safety reasons. To keep the line moving, please make sure students are ready with all of their belongings when time to exit the vehicle, as well as right turns only on NW 72nd Street. In addition, we ask that you do not drop your student off before 6:50 am. Students arriving before 7 am will be directed to the gym until they are dismissed to class. To provide efficiency & safety of our drop off/pick up line, we ask that you do not park in the lower lot or the Kmart lot to drop off/pick up your student.

Dismissal

Dismissal Procedures (double lane): Please do not arrive any earlier than 1:55 pm. This is to ensure that our buses can gain access to our parking lot. *YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PARK AND HAVE YOUR STUDENT WALK TO YOU. IF YOU ARE PICKING YOUR STUDENT UP YOU MUST GO THROUGH THE CAR LINE*

· Please post the students name you are picking up posted in your passenger window· Parents will need to pull into either lane 1 (closest to the building) or lane 2 (outside of lane 1) if you are on the blacktop/straight part of the parking lot (we will do one lane beginning at the curve).· Students will be held in the small gym by team to maintain social distancing within their own teams· Students will come out as we call them to load 10 vehicles at a time (5 in lane 1 and 5 in lane 2)· Once all 10 vehicles are loaded, we will release starting with lane 2 and then lane 1· We will then repeat the process until all students have been picked up

Please remember to ensure a quick pick up, no left turns are to be made on NW 72nd St. To provide efficiency & safety of our drop off/pick up line, we ask that you do not park in the lower lot or the Kmart lot to drop off/pick up your student. For safety, all car rider students will be held in the gym and will not be released until they are picked up.
