NOTES

1. Isabelle (McColluml Fox gives her parents' birthplaces as Virginia in the 1880 U.S. Census for Chariton County, MO, p. 506B, Series 1'9, Roll 680, National Archives and Records Administration, Washington, D.C.

2. The order of children was taken from the records of William McCollum !Reference 1 above). It differs slightly from the one which could be constructed from their ages as recorded in the various U.S. Censuses. Mr. McCollum was a dedicated researcher of the McCollum family. On more than one occasion he went to the area which was the home of the McCollums in Kentucky and interviewed elderly McCollum descendants residing there, besides his trips to Chariton and Linn Counties in Missouri Mr. McCollum, like all McCollum researchers, encountered difficulty in documenting early McCollum research.

3. The many dates shown as approximations were extracted and in some cases extrapolated from the applicable U.S. Censuses.
