Olivia & Maya Bazir Robert WillyRuby

Olivia & Ruby Olivia began coming to your childcare center several months before her (now four month-old) baby sister, Ruby, was born. Their father, who grew up around here and moved out west after he graduated high school, moved back to town just over five years ago with his, then pregnant, girlfriend. Olivia and Ruby’s father can be a little gruff at times but is generally outgoing and friendly. Olivia and Ruby’s mom usually keeps to herself and doesn’t seem to have developed close relationships with any of the other parents or staff members, despite the fact that she’s usually the one who both brings in and picks up Olivia and Ruby. Though there have never been any “incidents” involving this family, they often seem stressed.

Maya Maya is a 4½ year-old who is very pretty and very shy, and often has belly pain from constipation—for which she takes an over-the-counter medicine. She has also needed antibiotics for several minor infections over the past six months or so; and recently her father, James, brought medicine to treat a stubborn rash that Maya’s been dealing with for a while. James is typically a bit disheveled, but is a sweet guy who always has a big smile to share and often a pocketful of candy to hand out. James is one of those “sticky” parents who can’t seem to spend less than half an hour dropping his daughter off. His schedule is flexible because he is a self-employed house painter. On the side, he paints portraits that people say really capture the little details of people’s personality.

Bazir Bazir is known to bully other children on a daily basis. His mom is a corporate executive at a locally based multinational corporation, and it is easy to see that this apple didn’t fall far from the tree. Both staff members and supervisors have commented that Bazir’s mom can be very unpleasant if challenged on any little thing—ranging from reminders about pick-up-time policy to attempts to discuss strategies for addressing Bazir’s aggressive behavior. Bazir is an only child, and his father is rarely seen by any of the childcare center staff.

Robert Robert and his family moved to the area from New Jersey about eight months ago when one of his parents got a job in the area. Robert is a very happy child, though rather hyperactive and known to be very physical with other children –though always in a well-meaning way. When staff have raised questions about his hyperactivity, Robert’s mother has explained that he is very much like his three older brothers and their father, all of whom are in constant motion.

Willy Willy is a 4½ year-old who spends ten to twelve hours every day at your facility. Virtually every day he is remarkably hungry, is dressed in shabby clothing, and has a runny nose. His mom seems loving, but is always rushed, running between various low-paying jobs that she doesn’t hold for very long. Willy has been coming to your childcare facility since he was an infant. His mother is a single parent and it’s said that his dad left town before Willy was even born. Despite his appearance and enormous appetite, Willy is always upbeat, full of energy, and plays well with other children. He’s always described as being a good kid by both teachers and his mom.
