The corporate governance in Al Shir awi

Al Shirawi considers good corporate governance, risk management and corporate social responsibility is a pre-requisite for sustainability and competitiveness and the ultimate path to business reputation and therefore. The company has a strong link between good governance, business performance and sustainability, a relationship which has been frequently overlooked by traditional organizations and corporate system.

Their sustained efforts to enhance corporate governance standards within the company and the community led to this milestone achievement, and they would like to emphasize upon the fact that corporate governance reflects upon a company’s image, leading to greater shareholder trust, which, in turn, leads to increased value. Good corporate governance is critical for attracting investment and building sustainable businesses. This conference is very timely for raising awareness and sharing ideas about how to move corporate governance forward in the UAE.

Al Shirawi participates in Desert Clean-Up drive 2013

Launched by The Dubai Municipality, the annual Desert Clean Up Drive, running until March 9 2014, aims to clear rubbish from large stretches of Al Khawaneej, Al Aweer, Al Warqa, Wadi Al Amardi and Nad Al Sheeba on the outskirts of the city.

In association with Emirates Environmental Group (EEG), the professional civic body undertaking awareness campaigns and voluntary programs has special cleanup teams waiting to assist volunteers with this kind of waste. After it is collected and weighed it is disposed of properly, Mr.Saifaie said.

Like every year, this year Al Shirawi’s employees participated with great enthusiasm and made a big difference in the cleanup campaign. This year, the campaign witnessed a large turnout of volunteers who expressed their desire to participate in the event to show their ties with

the land, and the importance of protecting the environment and keeping it clean and pollution free.

Last year, the Desert Clean-Up Campaign collected about 10,000 tonnes of rubbish from the desert with the help of volunteers from six private companies. This year about 20 companies are participating, including the aluminum producer Dubal and the Al Rostamani Group, as well as pupils from several schools all across Dubai.

Al Shirawi FM celebrates at the park

Al Shirawi FM, the premier facilities services, recently celebrated their year by hosting a gala event on December 12th at Dubai’s Zabeel Park.

The event was hosted by Al Shirawi FM and provided a great opportunity for all its employees to meet one another, network, and socialize under one-roof and share common thoughts in an informal environment. Present at the event was Al Shirawi FM’s CEO, Navin Valrani, and General Manager, Evie Boustantzi, along with the entire management team of ASFM who had gathered at the venue to witness the first ever annual gathering hosted by ASFM for its employees.

This is the first time we have hosted such an event, in such a grand scale for our employees and I appreciate the team for having put in such a great effort to make it happen. I am sure every employee in Al Shirawi FM is happy to be here and it gives me great pleasure to be a

part of it. 1044 employees from Al Shirawi FM participated in the event which consisted of different types of games, dance competitions and other fun related activities followed by dinner. Al Shirawi FM, is an Integrated Facilities Management Service Provider with over 250 contracts and employs a workforce of over 1500 people across the UAE. The company boasts of an impressive IT infrastructure, dedicated personnel and follows a high work ethic to make it one of the leading FM service providers in the UAE.

Conclusion

"The target is to create awareness among people," said Abdul Majeed Saifaie, Director of the municipality's waste-management department. "We want to show people the proper way to treat the desert and gather their waste."
