Families and the Gospel July 22 Mark 6:30-34) In today’s gospel “the apostles gathered around and told Jesus all they had done.” Listening allows the other person to express, understand and appreciate their experiences. Whether it is the excited chatter of young children or the repetitious stories of an aging grandparent, listening is important. It is not just time well spent, it is sacred time. Saint Anne Triduum in honor of Saint Anne will be held July 24, 25,2& 26 at Saint John Gualbert Cathedral, 117 Clinton Street, Johnstown. Mass and devotions will be held at 7pm each evening with confessions following mass. There is still time to join the pilgrimage (sponsored by St. Benedict Parish in Johnstown) to Assisi and Rome this October 1-10, 2018. The prayer of the tow was answered by God and in 1634 the first Passion Play took place. Msgr. Becker will be leading a pilgrimage to this historic and moving play on June 10-21 st , 2020. Included in this trip will be visits to the shrines of Eastern Europe and Southern Germany, including Munich, Prague, Krakow and Czestochowa. There will be an important informational meeting at 7 pm on Monday, July 30 th at Saint Johns Parish Center in Altoona, and again at 7 pm on Tuesday, July 31 st at Saint Benedicts Pastoral Center in Geistown. The Oberammergau Passion Play – Following

through on a promise made at the time the Black plague

was raging in Germany, in 1633 the Oberammergau

villagers promised to perform the suffering, death and

resurrection of Christ every tenth year if they were

spared. The prayer of the tow was answered by God and

in 1634 the first Passion Play took place. Msgr. Becker

will be leading a pilgrimage to this historic and moving

play on June 10-21st, 2020. Included in this trip will be

visits to the shrines of Eastern Europe and Southern

Germany, including Munich, Prague, Krakow and

Czestochowa. There will be an important informational

meeting at 7 pm on Monday, July 30th at Saint John’s

Parish Center in Altoona, and again at 7 pm on Tuesday,

Stewardship Reflection July 22nd How appropriate it is that the topic of today’s

summertime gospel is about the need for us to relax and

renew ourselves. May we value our faith enough to make

Icon Writing Workshop on November 4-10th

(Sunday to Saturday) at Bethany Retreat Center in
