FAM is an international organization headquartered in Germany with a proven history as a manufacturer of modern bulk material handling systems and a heritage dating back to the 19th century. We have broad expertise in opencast mining technology, stockyard systems, mineral processing, loading equipment, conveying facilities and port technology with more than half of FAM employees working in engineering.

The roller screens are ideal for difficult sifting applications, especially in case of hard to screen raw ma-terials (coarse, moist, clumpy, sticky, etc.). Our roller screens are primarily deployed in coal plants for scalping, as well as relieving of the crushers and screening of the materials after their sizing. They are also used for pre-screening of overburden and natural rocks, whilst making the flow of materials to the downstream crushers more homogenized and even. In general, roller screens reduce energy and ope-rating costs while improving operational safety.

FAM designed apron feeders are generally used to move material fed from a hopper, which is typically built from steel or concrete and sits directly above the apron feeder, to the next stage of the process.

The conveyor belt which carries the material consists of a series of overlapping pans that form an endless chain. The line of armour plates is pulled on two parallel chain strings which are extremely durable and wear-resistant attributed to specially heat treated pins and bushings.
