PARADISE FEATURE

Did you know? Paradise Point Resort (formerly known as Vacation Village) was developed by movie producer, Jack Skirball, in 1962. With the help of architect Ted Spencer, the duo created a tropical resort retreat with a focus on escapism. Skirball imported over 600 species of exotic plants from 20 countries to provide that authentic tropical feel.

Today, over 1,000 palm trees and 900 birds of paradise can be found across the flora-filled grounds, which is also home to amazing fauna.

A network of gardens and lagoons is home to ducks, red-eared slider turtles, hummingbirds, herons and egrets.

Fun fact: Herb, our resident “duck daddy” and Director of Revenue, developed a close friendship with the

ducks while the resort was closed from April – June, 2020. Every day, he’d check on them, feed them, and had our engineering team build small “houses” for them around the Main Lagoon. See if you can spot them!

Herb, despite his busy schedule, found time to continue to care for the ducks and has created his own customized blend of duck food. You can find his Duck DaddyTM food at the Island Market, which is also safe for our island fish located in the Main Lagoon.

Signature Bonfire ExperienceEnjoy a private bonfire experience just outside your guestroom. Sit back, relax, and let us do the work while you gaze at the San Diego sunset.

Includes private fire pit, up to 6 chairs, two bundles of wood, and s’mores kit. Our team will setup, light the fire and breakdown. Additional firewood and s’mores kits may be purchased at $15 each.

Barefoot Bar & Grill is a waterfront restaurant coveted for its panoramic views of Mission Bay. Dating back to 1962, this legendary restaurant offers a casual dining atmosphere inspired by the local culture to create bold flavors and new-American dishes.

Resort guests and locals alike can enjoy local craft beers, refreshing cocktails, burgers, fresh seafood & salads in Barefoot’s laid-back setting. Eat inside or enjoy al fresco dining at its finest next to a tropical waterfall, sea-life lagoon & colorful marina.

Skateboarding LessonsTake your skateboarding skills to another level! Book a private or group lesson with professional skateboarder, Mike Owen. With current state restrictions, group lessons are considered when there are 3 or more participants who are in the same traveling family. Lessons are available by appointment only.
