Who We Are
True North Sports Camps offers year-round sports programming for boys and girls ages 4–14 of allskill levels in Toronto, Etobicoke, Hamilton, Whitby and Markham. We operate summer day camps aswell as after-school and weekend clinics for baseball, flag football, basketball, soccer and multi-sport.
At True North Sports Camps, we believe that recreational sports are an important part of every child’sdevelopment and we make it our top priority to deliver a truly memorable experience. With low camperto staff ratios, our outstanding coaches are committed to building an individual rapport with each andevery camper.
All of our energetic coaches are experts in their sport, who love to share their knowledge of the gamewhile stressing the importance of sportsmanship, teamwork and fair play. We focus on creating anencouraging environment where all players learn something new, stay active and have fun!
Since 2007, our goal has remained the same: to provide the highest quality sports instruction in a fun, safe and encouraging environment.

What is a Clinic?
3
A “Clinic” is what we at True North refer to as one of our year-round weekend or after school programs. We run clinics in the Fall, Winter and Spring. Each clinic varies in length but usually runs for anywherebetween 4 – 8 sessions with each session being about 60 to 90 minutes long.
We offer clinics for boys and girls ages 4 – 13; this age range usually breaks down into 3 different groups(4 to 6, 6 to 10 & 9 to 13). Our clinics are for all skill levels whether your child is new to the sport or islooking to improve upon their skills.
Our goal is to improve eachplayer’s skills in that specific
sport, with an emphasis onfun, fair play and teamwork.

Camper Equipment: Campers should bring a baseball glove, protective athletic cup (recommended), running shoes or cleats (plastic spikes only and not to be worn indoors) sunscreen and a hat. Campers should wear athletic clothing. While baseball pants are not required they may be a good idea for sliding (outdoors). As well, campers are allowed to bring other personal equipment, including bats and helmets, however we do provide all of the necessary equipment aside from a baseball glove. Remember to label all personal items!
Water Bottle: Campers are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle to our clinics.Although most of our programs have access to water fountains if campers bring arefillable water bottle it allows for more efficient transitions during programming. We will have dedicated water breaks for campers (and are more than happy to bringthem to a nearby water fountain) but we also want to provide the most instructionand fun possible during the little time we have at each clinic session.
Valuables: Money, Jewelry, Phones, and other valuables that risk getting broken orlost should be left safely at home. Phones are not permitted at our clinics. If a camperbrings a phone to a clinic, it may not be visible while during a clinic. True North is notresponsible for lost or stolen valuables, including phones.
We use hardballs (outdoors), “soft” baseballs, wiffle baseballs and tennis ballsamong others! The type of ball used is dependent on the activity and campers’age/skill level. “Soft” baseballs are the same size and weight of a hardball, although they are much softer with a nylon cover.

Weather Policy
Weather Policy (only applies to outdoor programs)Some of our fall programs take place outdoors in both rain and shine! As we do not have access to indoor facilities to use for programming in the case of inclement weather, there are two circumstances in which we will cancel a program:
(1) Poor Field Conditions (large puddles, extremely slippery conditions, etc.)
(2) Severe Weather (heavy rain with limited visibility, thunder/lightning, very strong winds, etc.)
If a session is cancelled before it begins, one of our Directors will contact parents via email as soon as possible. If you do not hear from us in advance, please assume the program is going ahead as scheduled. Our staff may decide to cancel a session on-site if field conditions worsen or severe weather presents itself during a program. In that case, our coaches will ensure the safety of all participants and telephone parents to arrange for early pick-up.
If a session is cancelled before it has started or within the first half, we will try our best to schedule a makeup session if not families will receive a credit for the full session, which can be used toward any camp or clinic with us in the future (there is no expiry). If a session is cancelled during the second half, we will try to make up the missed time during another session, but no credit or refund will be provided.
