Fall/ Winter
2019
-
I would like to welcome you to our Fall and Winter Rio Linda Elverta Recreation and Park District Activity Guide. This edition will highlight a couple of our very popular special events!
The Recreation and Park District will host a Trunk or Treat again on October 25th in the Community Center parking lot. This event has been very popular over the last couple of years. We are always looking for more vehicles to participate in this family friendly event. Our annual Veterans’ Day Flag display will occur at Depot Park on November 11th. Also, Breakfast with Santa will take place on December 14th at the Community Center.
Over the next few months the District will begin to update its general plan for Parks and Facilities. This will include maximizing the usage of our existing parks and planning for new parks as new development starts within our District.
The District has also applied for several grants to create new parks from existing open space. If successful, these grants will allow the community to enjoy two new park sites with full amenities.
Please enjoy looking through this guide. There are a lot of programs to participate in for all age ranges. If you have any suggestions or ideas for new and different programs (for any age level). Please con-tact the District Offices at 916-991-5929
Yours in Recreation,
Mike Heller

Inclusion Services Admin Corner
What is inclusion you might ask. Inclusion means
that all people, regardless of their disabilities or
abilities, have the right to participate in recreation
activities within their community.
Recreation Therapy is activity based and address-
es the needs of individuals with physical, emo-
tional, social, or intellectual disabilities.
Recreation Therapy Services (RT) within Rio Linda
Elverta Recreation and Park District provides
inclusion services for programs and camps for
individuals of all ages.
Our State Certified Recreation Therapist will com-
plete an initial assessment, to include individual
specific information, skill assessment, and gain
additional behavioral information. An inclusion
plan will be designed and agreed upon by family
and Recreation Therapist.
Our Recreation Therapist will provide support,
staff training, make modifications or accommoda-
