    L E T T E R F R O M T H E D I R E C T O R

Dear Friends & Members,While we always feel energized and excited about the start of Fall Session, this September is especially important as itmarks the 75th anniversary of Main Line Art Center! Howamazing it is to think about our founders, a group of passionate artists, and the vision they had for our communitywhen they first opened the Bryn Mawr Art Center, as it wasknown then. The Art Center still operates with the samemission set forth by those artists: To inspire and engageartistic creativity for all ages and abilities and to celebrateand strengthen the essential role of visual art in communitylife.

Today Main Line Art Center is truly our communitys ArtCenter and thrives because of the generations of artists of allages, levels and abilities who have chosen the white houseas their creative home. We know that art is essential forpersonal balance and enrichment and over the years havebeen witness to the many ways that lives have beentransformed at the Art Center. As much as it is about the artand the process, it is also about connections that are madehere. Students and Members develop relationships with

others, including their Teaching Artists, that last long aftertheir classes and experiences end.

We hope that you and your family will join us in the manycelebrations we have planned to commemorate thismilestone. Throughout this time there will also be manyoccasions for you to share and celebrate the ways in whichart and the Art Center has impacted your life. In addition tobrowsing through this catalogue, we encourage you toregularly check our website and Facebook page for updatesabout all of our events and programs.

Finally, I must acknowledge that it is because of the supportof our community that the Art Center is thriving today. Ourcommunity outreach programs, which have impacted the livesof nearly a thousand adults and children with developmentaland physical disabilities, are made possible thanks to thesupport of people like you. Donations also enable us tosubsidize tuition for individuals with financial hardships. Mostsimply put, tuition alone does not fully cover the cost to keepthe Art Center operating. Please consider making a donationtoday (might we suggest $75 in honor of this specialoccasion!) to ensure that Main Line Art Center remains a vitalpart of our community for another 75 years.

    Warmly,

    Judy HermanExecutive Director
