How the funding will support programs of the branch:• Recruitment
• Recruit using a Banner• Recruit using t-shirts• Ordering IEEE merchandise (e.g. pens, sticky notes)
• Retention • Host a barbeque as an end of the semester get-together and allow members to invite
friends.• Offer refreshments and snacks during the general branch meetings• Retreat for training and discuss how to give value to the branch IEEE membership
• Branch advertising• Host an annual video game competitions to advertise our IEEE branch
• Host a talent-show
How the funding will fit into the overall program of the school:
• Collaboration with other organizations to offer networking opportunities.
• Promote Engineering as a carrier by having speakers, workshops, and field-trips.• Workshops can be in soldering, MatLab, NI Labview, or microprocessors• Possible fieldtrips are USAA, AT&T, Toyota plant.• Speakers can speak about their experiences in the industry.
How the funding will interact with other funding that the branch might have:
• Funds from the CTS of IEEE and the proceeds raised through STMU’s annual Oyster Bake are used to support the activities of our student branch.
• Getting involved in engineering week and visit local high schools• Engineering week is in late February • Funds can aid the construction of interactive robots and circuits to show-
and-tell
