Core concepts of understanding art in context, developing individual voice/point-of-view and exploring creativity through individual and collaborative projects will ground these explorations. Lessons will address Illinois Art Learning Standards. This guided trip will include an in-gallery conversation followed by art making related to the works discussed. Trips can vary in length with a one hour minimum and is flexible based on needs. All grades are welcome, we will work to accommodate large-sized groups. Please contact us at least a month in advance, so we can work together to create an awesome trip. This is a pilot program, so funding for bus costs isn’t available at this time. Come meet our inaugural Gallery 1104 artist-in-residence and/or come for gallery conversations happening in our other galleries throughout the day. Kid friendly refreshments will be available. This artist-led workshop will introduce participants the larger ongoing project and art practice of the project founding member, Aram Han Sifuentes, as well as foster a learning space for people to gain skills to learn to make their own banners. This workshop will promote a communal space that supports and respects individual makers and voices. Please RSVP prior to the event, to help with planning and workshop set up.
