This workshop will guide students through a variety of handson explorations. Core concepts of understanding art in context, developing individual voice/point-of-view and exploring creativitythrough individual and collaborative projects will ground theseexplorations.

Lessons will address Illinois Art Learning Standards.

K-12 TARBLE TRIPPROGRAM

5-WEEK WORKSHOPSHome School Art Studio

$2.00/per student, chaperons & teachers are free (suggested ratio: one grown-up for every ten students)

Come to Tarble for a day of art, conversation and fun! This guided trip will include an in-gallery conversation followed by art making related to the works discussed. Trips can vary in length with a one hour minimum and is flexible based on needs. All grades are welcome, we will work to accommodate large-sized groups. Please contact us at least a month in advance, so we can work together to create an awesome trip. This is a pilot program, so funding for bus costs isn’t available at this time.

Join us for a full day of activities as we celebrate and build community while exploring and making art. Come meet our inaugural Gallery 1104 artist-in-residence and/or come for gallery conversations happening in our other galleries throughout the day. Kid friendly refreshments will be available.

Protest Banner Making withAram Han Sifuentes

Tarble Classroom & Brainard GallerySaturday, November 2, 1-4pm

This artist-led workshop will introduce participants the larger ongoing project and art practice of the project founding member, Aram Han Sifuentes, as well as foster a learning space for people to gain skills to learn to make their own banners. This workshop will promote a communal space that supports and respects individual makers and voices. Please RSVP prior to the event, to help with planning and workshop set up.
