C. Contract Terms need clarification…50/50 looks like what? (Future Action: Once the venue is finalized, a letter of agreement outlining terms and conditions with Dave will be developed.A contract/agreement will be required to lay out understanding and parameters of responsibilities and remuneration to both parties.)

● UFO watch

MOTION: To keep things moving there is a need for a Follow-up meeting - Friday Dec 15 at 8 am.

2 Journal vs Newsletter discussionConfusion about the purpose and mission of Newsletter and Journal is discussed.

● Thyson provided on-screen the newsletter published to the website that can be viewed by those requesting it. The format is considered easy to prepare and easily embellished.

● Jacqui was concerned about a ‘mandated’ responsibility of CSQ to provide a quarterly ‘Journal’ and whether this Newsletter ‘fit’ the requirement. The ‘Journal is scheduled for distribution on the 21st of Dec.

● Discussion regarding the Newsletter as sufficient and consideration for ‘the Journal’ obligation.

● A printed version of the Newsletter may be needed for the 20 members who prefer . print.

(Jane notes – An action might be needed to define the Journal vs the Newsletter. Not sure this was clear. ‘The Journal’ needs definition to be differentiated from a generic public Newsletter available on the website or via online mailing list. What is benefit to members if different from Newsletter. An action would be needed to develop this Journal for the benefits to be clear, beneficial and understood.

An action might be needed to evaluate the cost of printing the newsletter (if that is the substitute ‘Journal’ or if that is to be offered). Costs include: paper, ink, printing, envelopes, stamp? And is manpower voluntary?

An action might be needed to discuss and determine the increase of membership fees generically or just for those wanting a printed version of the Newsletter.

ACTION: Thyson will see what is required to format the Newsletter to print.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT

AGM September 29th, 2018

The Canadian Society of Questers has done much in 2018 to move towards its vision of becoming a vibrant, global community that preserves, practices and shares dowsing and ancient wisdoms for the wellness of all.

Last year we asked for financial contributions to help CSQ recover from a history of losing money on the previous five conferences. With your help, we hosted our 2017 fall conference Rising Beyond the Matrix, at the Prestige Hotel in Salmon Arm, BC and successfully raised our financial health to over $20,000. In addition, we have re-established www.questers.ca with new technology enabling us to initiate programs to simplify and increase our efficiency in communicating with each other.

Thanks to you, our members, for stepping forward as volunteers. At our spring conference Rising Like the Phoenix, for example, member Sandy Vradenburgh stepped up to become our conference connector with the task of helping coordinate members who were looking to ride and room share at the fall conference. We also began an initiative of providing a platform for our esteemed Elders to share dowsing and other aspects of their personal journey into the paranormal aspects of being a human, with Calgary Chapter Chair Merope Gervais giving us a fascinating account of her paranormal adventures into dowsing. In addition, we held our first Open Forum for Questers to talk with each other about ideas and brainstorm our path into the future. I hope to see much more of these opportunities manifesting in our society as move forward empowering and teaching each other.

Questers AGM Page 15 of 22

Page 17: Fall 2018 Conference - questers.ca€¦  · Web viewWe would not advertise, except by word of mouth, and we would not charge for attendance. We accept the generosity of Bob and Pam

Many of you have shared your ideas and made suggestions as to how to move Questers towards the fulfillment of its vision. We have listened. I thank each of you who has come to me with thoughtful and heartfelt suggestions and, as president, look forward to continue to receive guidance from you, our membership. I appreciate you all remembering that each one of us is a volunteer who deserves to be treated with the utmost respect for their service to the society and the raising of consciousness throughout the planet. You may not agree with another’s unique perspective or idea; however, we celebrate each individual their right to their own perspective as we seek ways of finding understanding and a higher ground.

We look forward to implementing the availability of more member resources through www.questers.ca in the coming year as well as adding updated content including a historical account of our nearly 40 year old society. Please keep your ideas coming. Please volunteer to head up a small project you feel may benefit the society. Bring your ideas to the board as together we empower each other in the journey of self discovery.

Thank you.Jacquelyn RoseCSQ current president

MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY’S REPORT

Membership Secretary Report to the AGM. September 2018.

With Michael Strauch’s able assistance this year, I have been learning about the CSQ Website and how to use it.

As of this date. Sept. 17th, there are 111 Active members, going by the website membership registration list, this is strictly by the date of their last renewal. These people will receive the Fall Quester Journal. The Expired members still on the website will be receiving a letter after the Conference letting them know that they need to renew annually from now on; how to renew on the website; releasing the responsibility of the Society from sending out reminder emails and maintaining the old form of data base records.

My present goal is to find a volunteer to take up the Membership position on the Board. A

member who is conversant and loves to work on computer websites, especially the CSQ website with all its bells and whistles.

As always, I have enjoyed the friendly communications received by the membership. The Questers are a great community of enthusiastic people.

Page 18: Fall 2018 Conference - questers.ca€¦  · Web viewWe would not advertise, except by word of mouth, and we would not charge for attendance. We accept the generosity of Bob and Pam

Since the last Fall Conference the Kelowna Chapter has held 8 events.

The attendance has varied, some being well attended, others not so much with weather/fires/smoke affecting a little as well.

We are always looking for new ideas, presenters, helpers, etc!

Our finances remain relatively healthy and we are currently holding a balance of $585.45. Upcoming expense of a cable to hopefully get a microphone system working in time for the October meeting.

Qualicum  Quester’s

In our Qualicum  Quester’s  group planning meeting, this year, it was agreed that we would place a priority on community.  We would not advertise, except by word of mouth, and we would not charge for attendance.  We accept the generosity of Bob and Pam Rowe to use their “red barn” as a meeting place.  We look for speakers locally; they give their time freely.   Our two person coordinator position, is accepted for a two year term.  Every January a new person comes on and the person who has been on for their full term goes off.  Our meeting also appointed  a tech person, a record keeper, a video master and a librarian.   Since our meetings are all recorded on You tube, I refer you to Qualicum Questers YouTube.  These have been posted by Dr. Bob Rowe for the benefit of all, and may be used by groups.  We appreciate their being announced to other Quester groups.

At this time, we have benefited from three pop up groups during the summer months and September.  These have centered around crystal grids, dowsing and sound healing.  We have found this to be a way to bring practical experiencing into our group.

NORTH OKANAGAN CHAPTER, CSQSeptember 2018

It’s been a slow and yet steady year for us. We have lost our easy access parking right next door and it can be somewhat sketchy parking a block or two away. That seems our biggest issue now.

Calgary Dowsers Annual Report, July1,2017 – June 30,2018 Our Calgary group experienced another challenging year. Our average attendance per meeting dropped to 19 from last year's 24. We had a potluck get socials for our June and December meetings that only had attendances of 6 and 7. It looks like we may have to drop those in favor of our regular meetings. Our finances look like this: Revenue: $2981.00 Expenses: $4500.39 Difference: ($1519.39)

Bank Balance: July 1, 2017 - $3402.83 June 30, 2018 - $1943.40

July1,2017 - $173.18 June 30, 2018 - $173.18 It seems to be more challenging than ever, to bring in interesting, attractive speakers speakers who can draw the numbers of members and guests needed to cover our costs. Our subscription to Meetup doesn't seem to be drawing the numbers we hoped for, so we are probably going to drop it. Merope is actively soliciting suggestions members may have for speakers. We also have members looking for a meeting room that would be lower cost.

CSQ Chapter Liaison report

Saskatoon

As you know, there was interest expressed in Saskatoon in establishing a CSQ chapter a while back - it hasn't gone anywhere yet, but they were sent info about the fall conference. I will keep in touch with them and in particular will send them future conference info and anything else that seems relevant.

Kelowna

The Kelowna chapter is hobbling along, and should be ok. The meetings are small, but there is enough interest to justify our existence.

Vancouver

The Vancouver chapter is struggling with low attendance and little interest from the membership in getting involved with the leadership of the chapter. Gordi Minshul stepped forward to run the chapter after I stepped aside, and has been doing a great job of keeping the ball rolling. But he's getting tired and wants to step back - at this point there are no viable prospects to take over.

Surrey / White Rock

Brenda Wallace ran this chapter for the longed time. Circumstances dictated that she take a break several years ago. She has recently resurfaced and may resurrect this chapter.

Calgary

The Calgary chapter seems to be humming along well, and the same can be said for Vernon.

Virtual Chapter

The really interesting thing that has been discussed recently is the formation of an online chapter. This would give us a truly international reach. The discussion is still in it's infancy though. The concept is

perfect considering the times we are now living in. The digital world is becoming more and more important and relevant. We need to embrace it.

This is a brief "state of the chapters" report

BLOG MASTER REPORT Since the blog started on the new website on August 4, 2017, Judith Hirst has posted 133 blog posts.  Other members have posted 13 blog posts, mostly around the conferences.  Blog posts appear roughly every four days.  Questers would love to have more members write blogs and share them.  Judith will post blogs on behalf of all members, and write a reference on each contributor. There are some comments on the blogs.  However, it seems many people will not post comments because of the requirements to provide email, etc.  Questers members who sign into the website can post blog comments without providing detailed information.  So, get a Questers membership, get an account on the website, and start posting comments. Start writing blogs. Let your creative writer side show… poems, stories, thoughts, are all welcome.

SRPING CONFERENCE COORDINATOR REPORT

Being brand new to this board my first job was to plan the spring conference. Not as easy as it sounds however we did pull off a basic break- even conference, so our non profit status is not in jeopardy of being revoked any time soon. ( thanks Jacqui and Sue Finn)

Our speakers included,o Ken Johnston: talking about secret space programs of the US and probably other countries

too.o Cindi Johnston: Shifting timelines with examples of how to slip from one to another.o Josie Ravenwing: on John of God.o Chris Lee: Hypnotist and past life healer.

Page 22: Fall 2018 Conference - questers.ca€¦  · Web viewWe would not advertise, except by word of mouth, and we would not charge for attendance. We accept the generosity of Bob and Pam

o And Sue Paulson: Heaven is here... so we should be making the most of it, now.o Thyson Banighen of course was his usual wonderful informative self.

We held an open forum which did generate a few new ideas on how to be more of an online presence, and I thought we signed up a couple of volunteers to work on this.

Another suggestion( from a brain storming session) was trying to involve elder Dowsers as speakers. To this end we asked (semi local) Long Time Dowser Merope Gervais to speak. She shared stories about how she came to be a dowser and the ways in which dowsing has impacted her life. (I still smile thinking about that baggage sticker).
