This is a very exciting trip. And we mean trip. We will start at Biddeford Adult Education Main Office, 64 West Street and watch the Movie “Titanic”. Titanic is a 1997 American epic romantic disaster film directed, written, co-produced, and co-edited by James Cameron. A fictionalized account of the sinking of the RMS Titanic, it stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet as members of different social classes who fall in love aboard the ship during its ill-fated maiden voyage.

Movie Time is 9:30 am for the 3 and a ½ hour movie.

Then we are off to Saco Island to hop on the train and head into Portland where we will be picked up at the train station and shuttled over to The Portland Science Center. The world-renowned Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition will be on display at Portland Science Center for only a limited time! Take a journey back in time and experience the legend of Titanic like never before! Upon entering, visitors to the Exhibit will receive a replica boarding pass, that of an actual passenger aboard Titanic and then begin their chronological journey through the life of the Ship. The galleries in this fascinating Exhibition feature over 100 real artifacts recovered from the ocean floor along with room re-creations and personal stories; each highlighting a different chapter in the compelling story of Titanic’s maiden voyage. In the “Memorial Galley” visitors will have the chance to take their boarding pass to the memorial wall and discover the actual fate of their passenger.

You can come and go as you please at the museum and grab a bite to eat at one of the many places in the Old Port. The bus will pick us up in front of the Portland Science Center at 7:30 pm and make stops at Saco Island and JFK.

In 1942 the La Salette Missionaries bought the Attleboro, Massachusetts property as a major seminary and in 1952 the construction of the Shrine was announced. The Feast of the Immaculate Conception, December 8, 1953, marked the official opening of the Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette in Attleboro.

La Salette Shrine is known for their Christmas Festival of Lights, which has grown over the years into a spectacular display during the Christmas Season. It has been a Christmas tradition for thousands of families for well over half a century!

There is much to do and see at La Salette Shrine. Shop the Gift Shop, visit the International Display of Nativity Creches, walk the shrine and then get ready for the sun to set and the lights to go on. What a piece of magic!

We will stop at the rest area on 95 for lunch and stretch break. Then we will arrive at the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette at 2:00 pm. Illumination will take place at 5:00 pm. Dinner will be available to purchase in the cafeteria.
