City College of San Francisco welcomes San Francisco high school juniors and seniors into the dual enrollment program. This booklet explains our policies and procedures and gives you a schedule of classes for the Fall semester. We believe that participating in this program will ease the transition from high school to college and

encourage you to keep pursuing post secondary education. No matter what college you choose to attend, your experience this year and the

credits that you earn here will travel with you and give you a head start for the future. Welcome to our program!

Steps to Enroll New Students: Step 1: Complete a CCSF Application Online Step 2: Complete a Dual Enrollment Packet including High School Concurrent Enrollment Permission/Consent Form with preferred course information Step 3: Attend a MANDATORY Dual Enrollment Orientation on Monday, August 10th, times to be announced Step 4: Register Online Prior to September 4 (the course must be on your consent form, if unable to register online contact your dual enrollment counselor for assis-tance) Step 5: Participate in Midterm progress reports (October) How to Pick Your Classes: On your High School Concurrent Enrollment Permission/Consent Form you are allowed to list up to 4 course choices. • We suggest making your first choice a class that is listed under the name of

your pathway/academy at your high school, then choose other classes that interest you as your next choices.

• We recommend that you list as many choices as you’d like to maximize your chances of getting a seat in a class.

*Please note that due to enrollment priorities and class capacity we cannot guaran-tee you a seat in ANY course. How to ADD a Class: 1. Go to www.ccsf.edu 2. Click on Register for Classes (on the middle of the screen) 3.Login to Web4 as demonstrated at the orientation (User ID is your CCSF student id # - on your folder from orientation or you can email [email protected] for it again, and your pin is defaulted to your six-digitdate of birth MMDDYY) 4. The first time you login you will be asked to reset your pin, you can keep your birthday as your pin or change it to another 6-digit number that you will remember 5. You will then be routed to the main menu 6. Click on Student Services and Financial Aid & EOPS 7. Click Registration 8. Click Add/Drop Classes 9. Select Fall 2015 from the drop down menu, click submit 10. The next screen may ask you to confirm information, to save time you can by-pass this page by scrolling to the bottom to click “Submit Changes/Registration Menu” 11. At the bottom of the next screen you will see the words “Add Classes Work-sheet” with CRN’s with empty boxes. 12. In the first box enter the 5-digit CRN (beginning with 3), click submit changes 13. On the next screen you will see your Current Schedule- please ensure that it says *Registered* under status. How to DROP a Class: 1. Follow steps 1-9 from above 2. Under Current Schedule you will find the “Action” drop down menu 3. Select Drop/Remove from the drop down menu next to the class you are wishing to drop 4. Click submit changes to complete drop 5. On the next screen the course you were enrolled in should no longer appear. 6. Please send an email to academy @ccsf.edu to let us know you have dropped.

Textbook Policy Your Academy teachers are the point people for your textbooks As a dual enrollment student, SF Unified School District will lend you a textbook for your class. It is your responsibility to return this book in good condition. Stay tuned to the listserv to learn how your book will be delivered to you; most books are delivered directly to your CCSF classroom or to your high school academy classroom. If you have not received your book by the third week of the semester please speak to your academy teacher for assistance. Please keep these books in good shape and do not write in them so we can pass them onto the next group of students. Textbooks are extremely expensive so there will be consequences if the book is not returned or if it’s been under-lined or somehow defaced. *You will be billed for books that are not returned or returned in bad condition.

Frequently Asked Questions What if I’m in a school that does not have an acade my or pathway? If you are not in an academy or pathway we strongly suggest that you enroll in IDST 50, College Success. This three unit class will help you clarify your goals and prepare you for future college courses. You can enroll in other courses with coun-selor approval. Will I get high school credit for the classes I tak e at CCSF? (You will receive college credit for coursework taken at CCSF). Your high school will give you credit as follows; Students earn both high school & college credit for taking a CCSF course. (It is optional to put the CCSF course on the HS transcript if your grade is not satisfactory; however, it is permanent on CCSF college record) Unit Policy: 1 college unit = 3.3 HS credits 2 college units = 6.6 HS credits 3 college units = 10 HS credits A-G courses award an extra point/bump in GPA like AP courses. Seniors should report passing CCSF grades on college applications to increase competiveness. Please check with your high school counselor and let them know you are enrolled in a college course. What do I do if I no longer wish to take a class? If you are sure you were never enrolled and did not officially add the class you do not need to do anything. If you registered yourself online, simply follow the steps on “How to Drop a class” on page 5 to complete the drop process online. You can also drop in person by completing a “SPECIAL H.S. DROP” form available in Con-lan Hall 107 (have your ID # handy). You must drop the class by the drop deadline to avoid getting a “W” or an "F" on your transcript. If you would like to drop a class after Thursday, September 10, you will need to withdraw from the class. Contact Valerie or Mariana via email for assistance. How do I access my student account (grades & schedu le)? 1) Go to www.ccsf.edu 2) Click on Web4 3)Enter your CCSF student ID# as your User ID: (example: W1000999 or @00123456) Once classes are over, how do I get my transcripts? Unofficial Transcripts are available through Web4. You can login to Web4 via www.ccsf.edu, click on the myCCSF icon (hit enter). Official Transcripts can now be requested through Web4 as well. Login to Web4 1)Click Student Services & Financial Aid & EOPS tab 2)Click on Student Records 3)Click Order your Official Transcript and answer the questions to submit the re-quest/ have your transcript sent to your preferred school. Welcome to Credit Recovery What is the Credit Recovery? CCSF Credit Recovery is a way for high school students to get back on track for graduation by recovering missed credits/classes required for high school graduation. Students successfully completing a class will earn 5 High School credits. Students are advised to meet with their school counselor to deter-mine which class is appropriate to meet graduation requirements. Who Can Enroll? High school students 16 years of age or older with referrals from the HS Prin-cipal/Designee and Parent/Guardian permission. You can access these forms at: www.sfusd.edu/creditrecovery. When Can I Enroll? Classes fill up on a first come - first served basis. Students are expected to be enrolled before the first day of classes. Students must attend the first day of class. What Should I Bring To The First Day Of Class? Bring information about the class you have enrolled in: campus address, room number, teacher’s name, time, and your CCSF ID# if you already have it. How much do Credit Recovery courses cost? These classes are free of charge. What is the role of the high school counselor in th e Credit Recovery process?
